Colleen1We had a ski lease with them this past season and will never rent with them again. When we arrived, the house was dirty - there was debris on the floors and hair in the tubs - and there was 9" of ice in the driveway. The house should have been delivered clean and completely clear of snow. We called and were told multiple times that someone would be over to clear the driveway and no one came. Meanwhile our cars were sliding into each other and several of us fell and injured ourselves. We ended up spending over 50+ hours clearing the driveway of ice. The house was in generally good condition but had a number of broken shades and scratches on every single door and most cabinets from some poor dogs that had been locked up some time previously. We noted ALL of this on our move-in form and yet were charged $461 for scratches and $165 for fixing blinds upon move-out. Additionally, we were charged $700 for a cleaning upon move-out despite the fact that we left the house cleaner than how it was delivered to us. The cleaning rate noted in our contract was $40/hour, which would suggest 17.5 hours of cleaning. This is patently ABSURD. We had washed all sheets and towels, remade beds, and taken out all trash. And given that the same cleaners came three times during the season, we know that they do not do a thorough job and do not spend that amount of time at the house. Then there was a $600 carpet cleaning fee for a carpet that was already riddled with stains. Tahoe Moon completely ripped us off and we would not recommend renting with them to anyone.

Ingrid Mayer1We rented Bearing Ranch property for 4 nights in August. We arrived at the house in the evening after a long day of traveling. The house was a complete disappointment for the price they were charging, it was gloomy, dark and full of really old stuff, broken things and warning signs about not to do this, or to do that or you'd be charged, a disaster of a yard full of spiky weeds and hazards, and next to a full on, active construction site 12 feet from the front porch. We were woken up at 6am and noise went until 6pm, trucks coming and going all day long, workers sitting at the edge of our yard smoking during breaks. When we called to complain, they claimed to know nothing about it. Ultimately after much back and forth, they said at most they could offer 10% rate reduction which they never paid back. We will never do business with this company again.

Caitlin Edwards5We just returned from a weeklong stay at Highlands Lodge and absolutely loved it! After a change of plans with our original reserved location, the Tahoe Moon Properties staff was very responsive and helpful with finding us a new place, and Highlands Lodge was perfect for our family. The location was excellent, the home was clean and well-stocked with essentials, and the hot tub was such a fun amenity! We will definitely be back—hopefully soon!

Marianne Salciccia1TMP neglected to do the basic step of cross-checking available dates with the property owner, resulting in the cancellation of our cabin rental 4 weeks out. They created such a massive inconvenience with no other recourse other than a refund. They couldn’t even offer a backup property, despite how many they manage. With our vacation so close, we had to scramble to find a different place, and so few of them take dogs that I’m forced to board my dog so we can keep this trip. This is beyond infuriating and such a poor experience. DO NOT RENT FROM THEM.
Response from the ownerWe are terribly sorry Marianne - this is certainly embarrassing for us as cancelling on a guest is not something we are used to having to do. This owner is a bit elderly and while she thought she had blocked dates for a large family gathering that weekend, she was just a bit confused and it seems she wasn't successful in doing so before your booking was made. We understand the disappointment and terrible timing. I can assure you that if there were any other comparable rental option for you on our program we certainly would have offered it; even a slight upgrade since we understand how much effort goes into planning a vacation like this. However unfortunately, as you state, that is a busy weekend so a full refund coupled with our most sincere apologies were all we could offer. Again, this is a very rare circumstance and I hope you'll give us another shot in the future as I'm sure we could impress.

Nicole Theodoulou1Renters beware. I had an absolutely miserable experience with this rental company between the property I rented having multiple issues with broken appliances, a non-working hot tub and damages to the property that caused injuries to our guests and receiving conflicting and inaccurate information form the rental company's staff. Worst rental experience of all time! The Mad Men cabin had the following issues: -The hot tub did not work and I was not notified (this is part of why I selected this cabin and we were very disappointed not to have been notified of this in advance). -The dryer did not work (we were once again not notified and did not find this out until attempting to do a load of laundry and then had a pile of wet clothes we couldn't dry). -The metal strip between the kitchen floor and living room carpet was sticking up and not connected to the floor, and my six year old niece cut her foot on it quite badly. -The BBQ was so filthy it was attracting bugs, and we had to move it to the side of the house, just to use the backyard space and were unable to use it during our stay. -I requested extra fans the day I arrived as it was sweltering in the cabin and at the time there was one fan downstairs and two heaters in the upstairs rooms only. I had to call and request them a second time (when also reporting the many issues listed above). They arrived Friday morning in boxes and it took two friends and I an hour to assemble them. -We were assured we could use extra parking across the street from our rental cabin for a small, catered 40th Birthday Dinner party for my husband, and were the told by Placer County Parking Officers that we would receive a $500 ticket for parking anywhere other than the one car driveway on the property -which is obviously inadequate for a property that sleeps eight adults. INCREDIBLY DISAPPOINTING EXPERIENCE

Jeetesh Bahuguna5Definitely a great choice. I rented one of the property manage by Tahoe moon properties, excellent communication, everything was in place, one of the best kitchen I ever had. It was bit expensive as I booked it at last minute, but totally worth it. Staff is very helpful, I called them after hour because I had issue with grill, and per some came and fix it with in 15 mins, it saved our party. Couldn’t expect that. Definitely going to book with them again. @TahoeMoon property thanks for making my stay great..

Larry Lugo5Tahoe Moon staff were outstanding in helping us find the perfect spot for a Tahoe Family Reunion. The house was perfect for our family, with a great deck for evening wind-downs. Steps from the beach and minutes from Tahoe City, Truckee River, and bike trails. Loved the Farmer’s Market!!!

It was very peaceful and located in a nice quiet neighborhood with a peek view of the lake through the trees. We had a few questions and the agency promptly replied. The house was clean, comfortable and the outdoor spaces were great. We were traveling with a small dog and we were thrilled to find so many dog friendly restaurants with welcoming patios in the area. You will love this spot!

Regina Godfrey5This Honeymoon cottage was perfect for our Honeymoon to Lake Tahoe! It was quaint, the neighborhood was peaceful and the hot tub was perfect! About a 30-45 min drive to south Tahoe where there is a little more to do but the drive there is the best part because it is so beautiful. We took a road trip to Calaveras Big Trees Park one day and it was worth the drive to see the Giant Sequoia trees. This cabin was great to come relax each day after adventuring around Lake Tahoe. Would definitely recommend!
