  Best choice in the DFW area!!! John Tatum is the most client-centered financial person we have ever worked with. He genuinely looked out for our best interest as first time home buyers. He made sure we understood all that was happening and how we could maximize our money's potential. We would not have been able to buy as great of a house without his assistance.   As my mortgage originator, John Tatum has gone well above the call of duty. He guided us step by step through the entire home buying process, and he educated us along the way on finding the best rates through size of down payment. There were times through our closing where his mind was ten steps ahead in protecting us from potential issues that would have arisen at closing. He even helped us get in contact with someone who could get us a much better rate on our homeowner's insurance! You can place your trust in John.

  Working with John Tatum at SWBC was the best home financing experience I’ve ever had. He got me better terms that I thought possible; provided personalized service I have never before seen in the industry; and had me clear to close on my new home in 13 days. Even though John is a friend and his terms were great, I did my homework and shopped two other nationally recognized competitors and got as far as pre-qual with one of them specific to the details of the home that I purchased. John Tatum and SWBC were clearly the best option from top to bottom and the choice in who to use was easy. Then the reality of my experience working with John up through closing is that he continually raises the bar. It has been 16 years since I last built/purchased/or owned a home—I’ve built two as owner/builder and bought one so the challenges of home financing (both construction, FHA and standard conventional mortgages) are not a mystery to me. Frankly I was shocked at the terms he was able to get me in this market with fluctuating interest. And I was startled at how hard he worked to keep those terms for me between pre-approval and being locked in on my contract. John was relentless throughout the process to impact every detail positively in our behalf and was professional, accurate, and cheerful with all details in the face of all challenges.   John Tatum and the staff at SWBC are the nicest and most professional people that we have worked with. We have been through this type of process six or seven times in our life. They set up a super-fast appraisal of the property, we were clear to close in 8 days, though we did most of the paper work online, John met with us personally to make sure that we understood everything and was also there at the closing. Excellent Communications the whole time. It was a real blessing to get to work with John and the staff at SWBC.

  John has been my financial adviser for more than half a decade and from the very beginning he has set a very high bar for EXCELLENCE and has become my personal reference of all SERVICE can aspire to be. When my family and I decided that it was time to buy a house, I contacted him to get some advice and, to my surprise, learned that he was just starting in the mortgage business. Due to prior history with him, choosing SWBC was an easy step. We had the privilege to be his very first client, initially aided and guided by David, who was also very informative and patient with a first-time buyer. John went above and beyond of what probably most would expect their lender would do in order to make the transaction perfect. The whole process was extremely smooth and we were even given the option of closing 11 days earlier than the projected 4 weeks of closing time. If he was able to work on such a level with his first client, I cannot even begin to imagine of what he will be able to accomplish in the future. He has my highest recommendation as does SWBC.
