  This is going to be a long post. In August 2020, we put our house on the market. Went under contract within a week with a family who was in the process of selling their current home. Their home has been under contract since June 2020. Their buyer was using Silverton mortgage. Time passes and everyone is getting appraisals, inspections, etc. done to finish the mortgage application process. In mid-September, we and OUR buyers find out that Silverton has been sitting on some of the paperwork needed to complete the mortgage application process for our buyer’s buyer. Long story short, this sets off a series of events that can only be described as complete and utter incompetence and apathy on the part of Silverton. Since mid-September when we found out about Silverton sitting on the paperwork, it’s been nothing but excuses, screw ups, and lack of communication from Silverton. The result of all this? We lost the sale of our house to our buyers AND we lost the home we were trying to buy after selling our current home. We and our buyers had our loans completed and “cleared to close,” but because we were unable to complete the sale of our respective current homes, we both lost out on buying new homes. In total, EIGHT TRANSACTIONS fell apart because of Silverton. One of the realtors involved in this mess has been in the real estate business for over 30 years and stated he’s never seen anything like this. Another kicker? Someone I know very, very well has been in the mortgage business for as long as I can remember. This person worked for Silverton several years ago and quit because of the toxic work environment, the lack of communication, and the way business is done at Silverton. I’ve read Facebook and Google reviews and it’s become obvious this is a repeated problem with Silverton. Save yourself a lot of stress and headaches and avoid Silverton at ALL costs. (And Silverton, save yourself the trouble of responding to this review by “apologizing” for our experience since NOT ONCE during this disaster was a word of apology uttered from anyone at Silverton. Stick to making excuses. That’s what you do best. And while you’re at it, I’d suggest looking into other career paths since the mortgage business is clearly too difficult for you.)
