Security Service Federal Credit Union Reviews

Jake Huggard1Do NOT use this bank if you are expecting reasonable customer service. I attempted to send an international wire. I was done before the cut-off deadline of 1pm. I was called to come back to the bank (from home) not once, not twice, but three times over the course of the day because they couldn't seem to get my wire straight. The third time I was asked to sit and wait in the lobby while they confirmed that they would be able to send my wire - because I don't have anything better to do on a business day. At any other bank I am able to send a wire using the website - without requiring a trip to the bank, but not SSFCU. I have been a customer for 30 years - since the bank was Geneva Steel Credit Union - but after today I am not coming back.

Alan King1In branch service is usually great. I'd give 4 stars for that. The rest of the service is so bad and time consuming it goes to 1 star. Calling to get service or answers is not fast or personable and don't feel taken care of. You get sent to a central hub, not your local branch. Usually told to go into a branch to solve problems when years ago you could take care of it over the phone with someone who knows you. They have a policy for everything and you're just a number. Don't bank here if you need phone/online support and don't like the big bank feel. If you do everything in person or don't need fast phone assistance , then it's a great place to bank. Not a fan either of the $6 checking account fee to protect my account that should be secured already. Missing the service of the old Family First CU days. I've been a member over 30 years and it's about time to switch back to a smaller credit union with real overall service.
Response from the ownerHi Alan, Thank you for providing us with your feedback. We'll make sure to review your concerns and look for ways to improve upon. For now -- a member of management will be reaching out to see if we can resolve any of your immediate concerns/questions. We appreciate you and your membership! - Bryce M.

Riley Conder5After going in to refinance a car with their promo rates there was a bit of a miscommunication that left me frustrated, but the team at this branch was so helpful and went above and beyond to help me out. Sue, Ayisha, and Holly were so great to work with. I appreciate you guys! Thanks for the help.
Response from the ownerRiley, Thank you for your honest 5 Star Review. We apologize for the miscommunication, but we are happy to hear that we were able to remedy the situation and go above and beyond until your needs were met. We will make sure to pass along your feedback to the Pleasant Grove management team. - Bryce M.

Robert Smoote5We're refinancing our home and although our mortgage is handled by another lender, it made sense to shop other offers and even more so to work with our primary bank - SSFCU. I chose the virtual meeting option and had the "pleasant" experience (pun intended) of meeting Mr. Jason Anderson who for the next hour and half, patiently walked me through the entire process; answering all of my questions. Compared to any of my experiences in the past, this was by far the most comfortable I have felt discussing our needs and/or goals we were hoping to accomplish through refinancing our home. To me, Jason showed genuine interest in what I had to say and made the promise up front not to waste my time if there wasn't anything he could to do help. It's encouraging to meet people who really do care about what's best for their customers - even if it means having to guide us elsewhere. Regardless of where this goes, I was inspired by Mr. Anderson enough to share my experience simply because it'd be a shame not to. Thanks Jason! Keep On Keeping On!
Response from the ownerRobert, Thank you so much for your review. We are so glad for technology and the ability to connect with you virtually. We are so proud of Jason and the service that he provided you as well. We're glad that you had a 'pleasant' experience with us and we hope that we can continue to serve you in the future. - Bryce M.

Dale Woods5Both my wife Irene and I have had the good fortune of working with Sue Olsen for many years at the Pleasant Grove Branch. When she transferred to the American Fork Branch we banked at that location which was further from our house, due to the exceptional service she provided. When she moved back to the Pleasant Grove Branch we switched back to the Pleasant Grove Branch because we appreciate and value her professional and friendly manner so much. Sue makes banking at Security Services Federal Credit Union a pleasure. Thank you Sue Olsen at SSFCU.
Response from the ownerDale, Thank you so much for the 5 star review and trusting SSFCU with all your financial needs. Thank you for sharing your story with us and for highlighting Sue Olsen. She's an amazing employee and we're so pleased to hear about the exceptional service she's provided over the years. We will make sure to forward your comments to her management team. - Bryce M.

ROBERT JOHNSON5Best location's in Utah County. Next to Smiths foods. Next to Provo mall. Location's in Colorado also. Suggestion you used to have a branch in Sugarhouse. Please find a good location in Sugarhouse and have a Sugarhouse location again. Will be a member for life. Location's in Utah County I like even better than the biggest credit unions. Sugarhouse house branch again would be nice. Sue and Van have been some of my favorites in Utah County
Response from the ownerRobert, Thank you for the 5 star review! We appreciate your membership and truly value your feedback. Have a great day! - Bryce M.
