  They are a terrible institution to do business with. If you have online statements you won’t be able to access your account over 80% of the time their site including your app will be under repair unable to access. Branch staff is not inclined or trained to help their customers. SDCCU will NEVER notify you when there is an issue with your account tellers are trained to charge you a $5.00 fee for any print outs, this is SDCCU policy. They are unhelpful unwilling to help the manager said they have a mandatory fee charge of $5.00 that must remain on your account for 24 hours before it can be removed?! Why even add the fee? Avoid SDCCU at ANY Cost! You will Regret it!! You will NEVER get Customer service on the phone! Even if you lost your card or there is fraud to report! This bank is a sham!

  Their stupid dress code when you walk into the bank is ridiculous. I'm 120 lb little white girl. I'm not going to rob your freakin bank. My sunglasses are transitioning and I cant see without them so no I'm not taking them off. So freaking rude. I hate this bank.

  Came in because chip wasn’t working( 2nd time in 6months ) I just wanted a new card with same numbers. Instead without telling or asking I get a card with all new numbers. I was trying to transfer money from 2 other apps into my checking and all got placed on fraud because it didn’t recognize the card. That’s how I knew it was messed up. Went in. Upset because I was already feeling inconvenienced by the chip. Then was told there was nothing they could do. I rarely ask for a manager because I think that’s annoying however this wasn’t my fault and was ruining my day. Manager was able to fix it. This left a bad taste. I’ll be closing all of my accounts in the near future. I don’t recommend this credit union.

  I wish there was a zero star option for this review. SDCCU is not only a rip off with their higher than average interest rates, their online banking is abysmal. Their customer support is worthless. I am in the process of refinancing an auto loan to get away from this bank, and when I called to get the 10-day payoff, the agent told me he could not stop the auto-payment I have set up. Well neither can I. It is physically impossible to access the auto-payment on their website because when you access it in your account it says there is no eligible account. There is no page for "recurring transfer" like any other banking site has. Now I am stuck waiting for this payment to clear so I can get a new 10-day payoff because this bank is worthless. Go check out their online banking app, it was apparently developed by a middle school drop out tech student.

  Moved here from out of state a month ago and tried to open a bank account but they wouldn't let me open it without a paystub. Came back today with a paystub but now they won't let me open an account because they won't accept my out of state ID from the DMV. Explained that I lost my hard copy of my ID and that it takes a month to get a new one. They didn't care. Manager was very rude and didn't bother explaining or helping me. Now I can't pay my bills or use any of the money I earn for another month. Never coming back to this credit union. Will be banking with a different one instead. Do not recommend this bank or the heartless bureaucratic service.

  I have a SDCCU account and a Chase account. I think Chase is more convenient for me. Although Chase barely has any interest and this is a lot better on that. With chase they let me know immediately of my purchases. I've had a problem with when i make a purchase or multiple purchases on the weekend, it doesn't even say pending. It just says you still have a full amount and then monday rolls around and I lost way to much money because i thought I had more than I did. I like how chase is on top of it every time I make a purchase.

  Love it here! Went from Wellsfargo to this bank and love the staff! If you pay attention to what the banker tells you than you won't get charged for free checking! Duh! The person who said they get charged for free checking obviously didn't pay attention to the banker! Doesn't take a genius to figure out how it works! I recommended this bank to many people and not one has had any problems with it what so ever! This bank is great for anyone!

  They do not send you any notifications when something is wrong with your account (no phone call, emails, or letters), charge you a ton of random fees, and then aren’t helpful when you call in to try and get it fixed.

  Service was quick. Hand sanitizer is located throughout the room. Everyone was masked. Markers are on the floor to help with social distancing.

  I have banked with SDCCU for over 20 years. They are the best!
