T Nguyen4I just got a new credit card and the process was great. I am a new member and I got my application done online before we moved to Houston. SECU helped me open my account and apply on the same day. I just got my card and set it up! Very happy with the service. I took away one star because the hours for the lobby are very short and I can't make it on a work day.

Queen2471Drove 20 miles for nothing after being told that I can get a debit card issued at the sugar land branch. That was not the case. They no longer have the machine to reissue debit cards. I have to wait until the card is mailed. There seems to be no convenience with banking here. Been a member for over 7 years and it’s never been anything exciting about being a member. I will be closing my account. We are moving in the digital times. Not what I expect from a credit union of this size.

We do not offer print-on-demand cards at our branch anymore. We offer lots of options for convenience, including 24/7 access to accounts through our Net24 Online and Mobile Banking platforms, access to 6,000+ physical CO-OP Shared Branch locations for access to withdraw cash in person while waiting on your new Debit Card (with locations that should be even closer to you than the Sugar Land branch), and the Ask A Question feature on our website, where you will find information about ordering a new card. T they helped me set it up online to pay easily since I can't visit them since I'm in Louisiana. My rate is lower than what it was before. The process was easy. They update the app site so it was easy to use.

Janes Jungle1I accidently transferred money from my checking account to my Schlumberger Visa credit card. The call center could not transfer the funds back while I was on the phone. I had to actually submit an email which on average takes 24 to 36 hours for a response. This is quite ridiculous. Very poor customer service under these circumstances.

We quote 24-36 hours response time, but it can actually be much sooner depending on your response back to provide needed verification, as well as processing times with Visa for your case. Justin R5I am really happy with SECU. They were really helpful with my relocation from Louisiana back into Texas. They have a workshop about buying a new home that I listened to online during the move, and it was really helpful when I bought my new home in Sugar Land. They helped me get my address changed on my account too. Right now, I have to visit at lunchtime because they have limited hours for covid, but they still respond to my emails after the lobby is closed. The girl at the front told me about their share branches, so there's a few other credit unions I visit after lunch if I need to stop by. I was able to get a loan for my new truck, too, and it was really easy to buy the truck at the dealer with their help. Overall I am really happy with the service and they are always very nice!

Suman Das5My experience with SECU had been really great. Starting from the time I moved in Houston I have received professional and friendly support. I also received very prompt help on auto-loan along with some useful suggestions. In terms of behavior of banking officer I never faced any problem. I can't comment on service over phone but thei email response is quite fast . I understand the change in time or response amid covid but that's true for every industry and we need to be considerate.

Mark Domingue1Long time member for auto loan. Average service for many years but no real service was required as my payments were automatically deducted from my SLB paycheck. Not the quickest responses and but were generally helpful although information was not always accurate from the first person. The issue is when I left SLB my auto deduction from my paycheck to the auto loan repayment stopped. I called a few times to try to set up new payments but they had reduced hours and only half staff working due to Covid. By the time I found someone who could help take the payment t by phone I had missed a payment and they reported to the credit bureaus. I asked them to remove the late payment but the person I talked to was very condescending acting like I was doing something wrong when I had tried multiple rims to make a payment. This is the only late payment I have ever had in over 20years of credit history. Very poor customer service and lack of understanding during difficult times, especially considering they were the ones who had reduced hours and staff making it harder to conduct business and make manual payments. I would not recommend them if you are looking for a bank that will work with you and wants to develop a long term relationship as a partner to help with financial goals. The condescending tone and air of superiority by the manager I spoke to was really awful and it’s hard to imagine a business being successful with that type of leadership. I will not be doing business with them again, too many other establishments that value longer term customers.

You called us on May 28th and immediately spoke with one of the members on our team regarding your loan and payment concerns following your recent layoff. You said you’d call back on May 29th to pay off your loan in full, but our records indicate we never received that follow up call or payment on the loan. By the time you called again in mid-June, you’d already received a 30-day notice of missed payment. We issued you the ability to pay by check for the remainder of your loan, even waiving the pay by check fees to help you during this time. Our team is here and ready to assist any members or potential members reading your review. Our entire team has been back to full time to assist our members quickly, even though our lobby remains open under limited hours of 10am-2pm. We urge anyone dealing with a layoff or change in job notify us immediately, and can be contacted 24/7 through our member email, [email protected] if they have trouble with calling. Some of the CO-OP Shared Branches in our network will accept check payments on loans, providing our members ways to work with us outside of our own hours of operation. We understand that this is a difficult time and want to help our members however we can. We are very sorry for your poor experience with us. Diego M5I have been very happy with SECU in all regards and found the staff very helpful to help. I live overseas and all my comunications are by the mail system. More value compared the french banks. I am surprised by the one start upraises from spoiled children who are used to amazon or uber eat response time.
