  I am a realtor myself and recently used Russell for a home purchase. I was surprised by his thoroughness in preparing the pre-approval letter and his weekly updates. His team was constantly in communication w/ me, and they all remained on the same page throughout the escrow period. Having access to multiple lenders all through Russell is a good plus as well. I have worked with a number of lenders, and Russell sits amongst the top of my list!

  Russell has a great knack of helping customers. He helped me to secure a jumbo mortgage when almost all of the big public banks dragged their feet in moving forward. Russell was clear in setting the expectations from day one, very responsive and despite all the lengthy paperwork, he was able to close the deal right on time. He is very professional throughout the entire deal.

  We were introduced to Russell Rivera at Kal Financial by our amazing realtor after my sister and I found a very lovely San Francisco home that was just put on the market. Before meeting Russell, we had a failed attempt at an offer to buy a different house a few years back and had felt discouraged by the whole ordeal. We met with Russell to discuss our desire to try again and buy another house in San Francisco's ultra-competitive housing market, and he spent a great deal of time explaining possible options for financing. Russell, along with his associate, Karla Balajadia, worked day and night through all the paperwork, making sure that they are all complete prior to submission to the mortgage company. He would call us every Tuesday afternoon to inform us of any developments and/or issues on the loan processing. He and Karla had also been very actively communicating with us through email on any additional paperwork necessary and the progress. Now I am very proud to say that our loan closed on our new dream home, and we are so grateful for Russell, Karla, Sean (our realtor), and the whole team for making this happen, and within the timeline promised.   Russell and his team provided great service from pre-approval to closing! They responded promptly to any of my questions or concerns. Most importantly, they did EXACTLY what they said they would do! As a veteran I was having trouble competing with conventional loans. Russell said because of his relationships with other professionals in the business, he was confident that he could get us into something. In a little over a month, we're now home owners!

  My experience with Russell was the utmost worst! It would have been nice to have straight forward answers and critical details prior to removing the contingency. This critical information was given to me two days after the contingency removal and could've cost me to lose my down payment deposit. Russell limited my agent to speak to him once a week and would not provide any flexibility on this. During my calls with Russell, he wouldn't give me an opportunity to speak and continuously talked over me in an aggressive hostile tone. His calls and emails were very combative and at times condescending. His loan officers wrote poorly written e-mails and the information provided was either vague or not very clear. If I would've known this experience would go to this way, I would have found another lender

  Shocking that you had this type of experience. I would’ve expected a much different response. Sorry that you feel this way. Unfortunately with as much instruction as I gave that wasn’t followed it led to challenges in the transaction that could not be avoided. A lot of work was made to help you be successful and ultimately we closed on time despite the challenges given due to no fault of ours. Taking all of your calls, messages and texts days, nights and weekends and making sure all of your questions were answered and you understood the circumstance. Setting up a program that enabled you to save a lot of money and accomplish your goals. I don’t know what else we could’ve possibly done. My team is the best in the business and definitely went above and beyond to help you. I am sure on your next experience you might appreciate everything. We did to help you.   This is our 4th time working with Russell’s team to buy a home with mortgage. His team is reliable, communicative and fast as always. We closed the loan on time and we are once again a happy customers!

  Russell absolutely saved our real estate deal. He and his team were professional, organized, and communicative throughout. Would absolutely recommend him! We had a tricky multi-unit property to finance, with property line and easement issues. Our regular mortgage broker could not make the deal work and we were in a stressful and desperate situation. Enter Russell and his team. He worked closely with the title company to find a solution, and fought for the deal all the way until the end. And the rates were excellent on top of it! Super happy with the outcome, and his creative problem-solving. Can't wait to refinance our primary with him.

  Really appreciated the work that Russell and the team did to help me refinance my condo. Russell was in scheduled, routine communication throughout, even when there wasn't much to report.
