  Our family tried to purchase a home 7 years prior with a different lender and the process was not pleasant. That lender was insulting and made it feel like we were taking up too much of his valuable time. We swore off the possibility of home owner ship for years. 7 years later as a teacher I was forwarded a notice about an information meeting sponsored by Caliber for school employees who wanted to purchase a first home. I attended the meeting and was very impressed by Eddie from the Caliber office in Santa Maria. A couple months later I met with him and Michelle in their office in Santa Maria. They were very accommodating about meeting and treated my wife and myself with more respect and sincerity than I expected. Trust me they did not stand to make much money from this loan considering our income. Although Caliber is a larger lender, we could see that both Eddie and Michelle had ties to the community and wanted to help us. The whole process was efficient while still allowing us to feel in control. We even got to pick a realtor that they had not worked with before and they got along great. We had regular text and email messaging in the whole process and were able to find a home and close on that home in less than 2 months. I would not have changed a thing and would highly recommend Caliber, Santa Maria to anyone.
