  Never have a problem at the SM branch and have been a customer for more years than I can count (since the demise of Bank of Santa Maria). But they recently bounced a large check to a local vendor because they thought the signature might be different. We weren't notified in any way. No, they cleared the check, then reversed it. The VENDOR'S bank, of course, let them know I bounced a check. Humiliating and the first in 50 years. I have to pay the $25 returned check fee AND a $15 cashier's check fee. The bank is "sorry for the inconvenience". Obviously, customer service is not a high priority. Beware of writing checks when you bank with Union Bank!

  Brook, Dana, Nora, and Lynn were/are great people at the bank. But the bank keeps changing personnel. Its like a rotating door for the managers. It used to be great to get a hello from the branch manager, but that is a thing of the past! Also, when that branch opened, they gave the first account holders a "Founder's Account" Deposit and maintain a certain amount of money, there would be no charges. They constantly have tried to renege on that. It's all about service! Unfortunately the corporation doesn't get that. Talk to Nora and Lynn if you want any genuine help. They get it!

  Never has long lines, always been easy to get things done quickly here. I've been banking here since I was about 8 years old and have never had any issues

  You can’t deposit money in your own account without an ID even if you have the account number your social and can be verified by providing your information. They must see your photo ID for any deposits. 15 years as a customer I think I need a new bank

  I have been with Union Bank of California since 1987, and they are the best bank i have ever used. My bank is great, tellers are good, efficient, and pleasant. I never have had any problems ever.

  I was incorrectly told by a teller that items presented in my account would be paid with a deposit before 11am. I made the deposit and they returned all my items which caused me a great deal of grief. Union bank is just like all the other big banks. They are terrible at customer service.

  LOVE my girls at my bank! Always so friendly and help me with whatever assistance i need!

  These people are slow. Everything about this bank is slow. Wouldn't set foot in this place if I didn't have to go here to cash their checks, because my bank won't except them.
