  My wife and I bought a house right after I retired and she quit working. Not the best situation as we had limited income at the time. Steven did a great job of making it work for us despite the challenges. I would recommend Steven and Open Mortgage to anyone needing a mortgage.

  My experience with Open Mortgage was flawless! Steven Michels and the staff at Open Mortgage are world class. They answered any questions that I had promptly and made sure I had full explanations. Everything was set up to ensure the transaction went smoothly with no hiccups. I will highly recommend all of my friends and family use Open Mortgage. I have already referred a relative to an Open Mortgage branch in another state.

  I do not recommend Open Mortgage! We dealt with Open Mortgage for 3 months in trying to get the loan for a house. The lender we used asked for documents in the last 2 weeks that they should have been asked for in the beginning. Multiple times he only gave us half the information that we needed and we didn't find the rest out until the next business day. There is definitely much more that I could say about our experience with Open Mortgage but unfortunately, I don't have time to write a book. I would not suggest using Open Mortgage if you are trying to purchase a house. My fiance and I will learn from the mistakes that the lender made and proceed to finding a new lender that can do their job correctly.

  I have reached out to this borrower to try and discuss a way to find an amicable solution. There were things beyond our control in this situation. Things take time to be ordered and received in a mortgage transaction. In this case title came in reflecting and requiring additional information mid way through the process. Things that if we had been told upfront about we could of advised differently and saved everyone involved a lot of time and headache the client included. When things like this happen all we can do is our best to roll with punches and address the issues with the client in real time as they come to us. To solve issues like this means that sometimes we have to involve the client to get their side of the story. Sometimes that means we may have to inconvenience them and request additional paperwork and ask for clarification of what happened etc. To be fair our pre approvals or any lenders for that matter are only be as good as the information that was provided at the time of application. We worked with this client for the time period that we did (3 months as stated) because we are a stand up company and will fight for as long as it takes to get the job done. We never want to give up fighting for our clients. We are still human and make mistakes so not to say we are perfect. I think in any transaction good or bad there is always room for improvement. In this particular circumstance things came to light that caused the client to not be able to finish the transaction which is frustrating for everyone involved, but certainly had nothing to do with us which is all I can share here due to privacy rules. We want every client to have an AWESOME experience and if you look at our review history this is far from the typical response and review we get.

  This was the easiest process I have ever experienced. Steven Michels was very professional and communicated well so I never missed any steps along the way. It was not for him, I am sure I would have been super stressed out and wanting to pull my hair out. If you need a mortgage loan, go to Steven Michels, you WILL NOT be disappointed! His counterparts were also very helpful and kind.. I could not say enough good things about Steve and his Company! Thank you Steven from OK!

  David Vonfeldt was our mortgage broker and our experience was amazing! Open Mortgage is the best lender I have ever worked with. David and our real estate agent, Tara, worked hand in hand so well, definitely took alot of the communication stress out of my hands. The loan process was so smooth and laid back, nothing like any experience I have ever had in purchasing a home. David was always accessible even on weekends and even when he was out of the country! Choose open mortgage and you truly wont regret it.
