Old National Bank Reviews

Jim Wehrle1I've recently experienced a new low in customer service, most likely due to corporate greed. ONB took over my former bank, closed my local branch, reduced hours in the remaining branches and staffed them with people who I suspect are overworked and underpaid but are definitely poorly trained. My latest problem with this bank required me to make three separate 40 mile round trips to straighten out a "lost" IRA transfer check. Why, in this day and age, they would transfer funds from one financial institution to another by a check in the mail is another matter. I was told "that's the way the IRA department does it." Have they not heard of electronic funds transfers? Then there is the call center, the black hole where your phone calls go to die. Every time I call a specific branch I am rerouted to the call center where I have to insist on speaking to someone at the branch I was initially calling. They are cheerful, and thank me for my patience over and over, but the call center is a useless waste of everybody's time. The general lack of basic banking knowledge by this bank's employees does not inspire confidence. I will be closing my remaining accounts at ONB as soon as possible.
Response from the ownerHi Jim, we appreciate you taking time to share your experience. We take the safety and security of transactions and accounts seriously. If you would like to discuss your concerns, we're available at 1-800-731-2265.

September Liller5ONB has had many changes for the past 2 years within their branch structure. With that comes hard feelings but I have felt that ONB has done their best from both a company and staffing (covid struggles like all businesses) standpoint to ensure their customers needs are met. They are one of the only banks in Dane county that opened their lobbies when still unsure of covid and still welcomed their customers. This branch has challenges just as anyone else but has maintained professional and courteous through these tough times. Thank you!

Richard Slone1Since Old National has absorbed Anchor Bank their customer service has been dismal at best. It is almost impossible to talk with a local person. I've called multiple times and left multiple messages for my "loan officer" with no response. Calls are routed to another state and they have little if any knowledge of anything in Madison, WI even though they're the parent company. VERY FRUSTRATING!!!

Mary Tibbits2I have banked here several times with a client of mine. I wish I still knew what the tellers name was i unfortunately had to deal with a lot. One time she refused to cash my clients check (and the teller knows my client very well, and me) and went in the back to check on protocol. She came back a handful of minutes later, did not say one word to us, did a few things on her computer and cashed my clients check. Said nothing! I was so confused on what was going on. I even had to prompt her to say bye. All doesn't matter now, my client got herself a new bank card and no longer has to deal with Old National Bank!

Linda David1Call center is terrible. "Agents" always busy. Leave a message? I don't think so. When I call a bank, I need service then. I'll bank somewhere where a real person answers the phone. Lots of other banks to choose from.
Response from the ownerWe hear your frustration and will be sure to share this with our team. You may also email us at [email protected] and request a callback at a time convenient for you.

Xerxes Lucius2The only reason it doesn't get one star is the staff are wonderful! Everyone was so curteous, and gave the best service possible. Unfortunately, in this company it's limited. The bank and the company is the worst, I reccomrec picking any other banking company. The app rarely works, lots of hidden fees, it's a mess.
Response from the ownerPlease accept our apologies that you are having difficulty with mobile banking. Please check the app store for updates which may help. If you continue to experience issues or would like to review your accounts, please email us at [email protected] or call 1-800-731-2265.

Diane Baal1Their hours are horrible. 9-5 now. Can't go before work and can't make it after work. Have to leave on my lunch break and drive 15 minutes from my job in Cottage Grove to make my mortgage payment, since the closest location is in Madison.
