Lisa Eklove1Wanted to switch credit unions and tried to reach branch with questions. Received call back from rude individual at a call center who wanted personal information from me and refused to get me to Crest Hill. Way to loose a customer before they even have to chance to become a customer.

Jim Nicklas1So I went to Numark Credit Union today open open a small business account. Unfortunately I was unable to do so. I currently have a temporary driver’s license due to my last getting destroyed. I was told I need either a drivers license, passport, or a state I’d to go with my SS card. The temp license won’t pass an audit. I ask if my veterans Is will work and I am told no. My new license will not arrive for about 14 days and to apply for any of the other items they require will take longer. I have plenty of item to identify who I am which all have photos, but that in not good enough. So, I either wait two to get my business rolling or I take my business to another institution. I have recently moved to the area and it was suggested to me that Numark was a good Credit Union. I have three accounts at Illiana Financial Credit Union, although it is farther away, I am sure they won’t turn down new business. SMH!!!

When new accounts are opened, there are federal regulations that all financial institutions must follow. Sean Sullivan1Numark was nice enough to give me a loan for a truck.... Had I have known if I was late on a payment I would be harassed my cosigner would be harassed they've been calling places neither of us have worked at in 10 years all for 700 dollars when my payment is 500 almost so I was a little over a month behind due to personal reasons and I get letters calls everyday. So I already know I'm broke and feel bad but on top of that they got a call and make me feel bad. I have never not paid even if it's a 100 bucks I give them something. long story short I'll never get another loan through these people as long as I live!

Lisa Tadej1So disappointed. I was given a loan thru them via the dealership I purchased my "lemon" of a truck from. Anyways, I liked them at first, even opened up a checking and savings account and was going to transfer everything over from Chase. Glad I didn't. Took forever for my debit cards, online banking was a joke. I called and went in no less than 8 times trying to get help to get it working, to no avail. I ended up closing my personal checking and savings and just kept the loan account open. They aren't exactly close, so times when I need to pay in person (either because of where payday falls or because I just spaced) I have to travel because, yes you do offer check by phone...at an $11 fee, and I refuse to pay it. The drive up wait time is exhausting. It takes FOREVER. Even with no one in line. The final straw was finding out that they will not let you refinance your vehicle loan if you already have a loan with them. I guess years of on time never late or missed a payment is not to be rewarded with a possible lower interest rate? Ok, point taken. I am already looking at other options. I thought a credit union was to be more personal and helpful for it's local customers. Not so much Numark, not so much. Sad. I can only give 1 star because of the employees. They have always been nice and friendly. I do appreciate that.

RJ Toth4Been with NuMark for a little under a year now and honestly it's not bad. Location is weird, but the building is very clean and welcoming. Customer service has always been great when I go in there. They don't take electronic withdraws or deposits, but it's easy and quick to go in a fill out a slip.

conrad ochotorena1Horrible bank never go, if you have a shared credit union they will not help you, first day I went in to withdraw money and they said I couldn’t because my bank doesn’t connect with theirs second day I go In I magically am allowed to fill out a withdrawal sheet for separate credit union but can’t get money because the address that I gave them wasn’t “right” I know the address to my own account. The tellers are lazy and don’t do their jobs and in my opinion should be fired.
Response from the ownerHi Conrad. We are sorry to hear that you had a poor shared branching experience with us. Sometimes the shared branching transactions are tricky because the credit union name given to us does not come up in the system. On rare occasions the system might be down, but more than likely the name in the system isn't what was given to us. When that happens we ask for addition information like the routing number in order to be sure that the correct financial institution is being accessed. As far as the address given to us, that also has to match what is in the system. To prevent fraud, the shared branching network has a strict set of operating rules that must be followed to ensure we are all working together to protect each other’s members from fraud. Through shared branching we can only see what the other Credit Union presents to us, and unfortunately, if that information doesn’t match we do need to refer the visiting member to his/her home credit union. We understand that this can be inconvenient but it is so very important that we protect everyone from fraud and also make sure that all transactions are being made correctly.

Tina Hildebrand5We refinanced our home with Numark Credit Union and worked with Miranda Castillo as our mortgage processor. Since we were out of state, she was awesome to work with - she answered emails and calls right away and helped explain the entire process to us in regards to our options for the loan itself, interest rate, and closing costs. I highly recommend requesting her for the loan process since she is knowledgeable, friendly, and can explain things in the most simplest of terms for non-mortgage folks!
