  I called Northstar Funding on a whim of desperation after I'd been waiting 4 months for a refinance with another mortgage broker. I was called back the same day by Kris Pilone and he personally took on my case and got back to me within 24 hours with positive news that they could in fact help me refinance my investment property. Once all the paperwork was in, Kris and Staci Alfaro were prompt, friendly, and answered ALL my NUMEROUS questions and concerns. (I am one of those people who wants to understand all the ins-and-outs of my mortgages, so I ask tons of questions). While the process took a little longer than we all anticipated, Staci and Kris stayed on top of our application/file and finally last week we closed, ending a SEVEN month saga of a cash-out/refi saga (that had left me and my husband stringing our finances together month to month, stressed and tired as hell of the entire process). I would highly recommend Northstar Funding for your mortgage needs. In fact, they're checking rates for me now to refinance my primary residence, not scared off in any way by the fact that I'm self-employed and therefore need a bank statement mortgage, but my husband is a W2 employee. Northstar is well equipped to deal with difficult cases, conforming and non-, and works with many good lenders. I look forward to working with, and recommending Northstar, in the future :)

  I highly recommend Northstar funding. This was the first time I bought a house, and I had no idea what I was doing. But Jess Silva went above and beyond helping me through the entire process. Whenever I called, he quickly answered and took the time to explain everything to me. I even called him one night late in the evening, and he still took the time to help me. Whenever there was an issue, he quickly knew how to handle it to help me close on time. Rhodora Zapanta, senior loan processor, also did an excellent job helping me fulfill the requirements and get everything that the bank needed. I used a VA loan, and they were very knowledgable about what I needed to do. Everyone at the closing even commented about how great Jess and Rhodora were during the process. I highly recommend using them, and my wife and I plan to use them again when we decide to purchase another house.

  Jess S. from NorthStar funding oversaw a refinance and then a very difficult JUMBO mortgage loan for us. He's incredibly responsive (even while on vacation!) and was there every step of the way. Not only did they successfully close 2 loans for us, they also leveraged their industry relationships and network to get us recommendations and introductions to the best insurance people and served as a point of contact for us on all things real estate. I've already recommended Jess to a coworker.

  Joe Pisa and his team at NorthStar Funding helped us get the home of our dreams. Our purchase was particularly difficult because the property had several liens and restrictions. As should be expected with any unusual property, we had to submit a lot of paperwork. However, Joe navigated a course of action which landed us a mortgage which suited our needs. Joe's staff is professional and very communicative. Every time I phoned the loan processor, Renata, she answered. Very knowledgeable and considerate staff. We could not have closed this deal without Joe and his staff. I gladly recommend NorthStar Funding to my friends and family.

  My husband and I purchased a home with the aid of the phenomenal staff of Northstar Funding. They worked with us from beginning to end; pre-approval to closing. We were both new to home purchasing, and were very much unfamiliar with the process and requirements of acquiring a mortgage. Not only did Joey, Mike D., and Rhodora make the process easy and pleasant; but, they also locked in a competitive rate. The rate was far better than what my bank of 20 years was willing to offer me. Considering our time was consumed with work and house hunting, Northstar was able to work with us via phone, email, and fax. We live in New York and never once had to cross the bridge to Jersey to fill out any paperwork. The entire team is extremely professional and patient. They were available to speak with us regarding the hundreds of questions we had, and were able to troubleshoot with their vast knowledge of the mortgage business. My husband and I would never have been able to do this without the aid of Joey and his team. We both strongly recommend Northstar without hesitation, and feel confident in their unmatched customer service.

  My wife and I just purchased our first home with the help of Joseph Pisa from Northstar Funding. He was very thorough in explaining the whole process to us since we were first time buyers.   Do not go through this lender. We were over promised and we got screwed! We had been working with Jess since March and everything sounded great. Found a home in April, scheduled a 30-day close and boom - Jess went on paternity leave without telling us. His C-team took over and didn’t know what the hell they were doing so here we were with our POD already shipped to our new address and us out of our apartment to find out we would be closing 2 weeks late. And now, over 2 months later we are told we are not through underwriting yet, what?!! We already signed closing disclosures and received a letter from their 1-Star bank that granted us the loan that we were through underwriting. Their underwriter Rhodora is a complete joke and this company is anything BUT professional. She never answers her phone or returned one phone call of ours and they would tell us we needed some type of vague documentation at 6pm on a Friday with no clarification and no end in sight. Everyday started out with crickets, no communications from anyone and ended with a nightmare rollercoaster ride with requests for paperwork we sent her weeks before. She is totally incompetent. There was no sense of urgency and we were expected to sustain our income while they did Nothing shelling out over $4,000 in hotel costs with a baby nonetheless and they continued to leave us in the dark thinking that is acceptable behavior. Like I said unprofessional. We could have moved on weeks ago. They will waste your time as long as you let them and you will never close. Stay far, far, away!!!
