  Allison Kasprzak was very helpful with my fraud case today and super friendly! I thought customer service was bad years ago at several companies but NECU really proved to me today ( after having HORRIBLE customer service with ATT on the phone that last 2 days) that there is GOOD left in this world! Thank You for all of your help and everyone that helped me at NECU today! you really make a difference!

  I opened an account because of the 4% interest, and will be closing my account because of the hoops you have to jump through to earn the interest, the fraud, and because 4% turned into 2.5%. To earn the interest, you have to complete 20 debit card transactions per month (among other things), and I did so entirely with Apple Cash. Somehow, even though I only ever used my debit card with Apple Cash, my debit card was compromised. I noticed the fraud too late and NECU only refunded the most recent fraudulent charges. I tried to close my account on June 2, but it is now June 18 and my account is still not closed. Customer service keeps saying "we need X" and then "actually we need Y" etc. to change my address so they can mail a check and close the account. I would avoid NECU if I were you.

  We signed our paperwork today with Jennifer Allen - she is WONDERFUL. So many positives about doing business with NECU: the ease of online application, the quick response, the friendly staff, the follow-up and then we arrive for our appointment and everything is ready! Jennifer is so kind and great at explaining everything - we have been a NECU customer for probably 15 years and we are so happy with their service.

  I have a car loan, checking and saving account with NECU. I chose NECU for a slightly lower rate on the car than my normal bank could provide. Customer service representives are friendly and helpful. However, their online banking tools are difficult to use, unintuitive and frequently did not work (especially during the setup process). Of the several financial institutions I deal with regularly, NECU's online interface is significantly worse to deal with. Realistically, it is the worst online interface I've used in nearly a decade. Unfortunately even the friendliest of customers service reps can't overcome the dreadful online experience. I look forward to closing my NECU accounts and enjoying the simple convience of my normal institution's online experience. Next time I'll take the paying the extra $50 over the life of the loan to avoid the headache of wasting days trying to do something as simple as setting up autopay. Lesson learned...

  Worst customer service ever from Layla and Kendra in Hooksett. Ashlee And Kaitlan are the only ones who have excellent customer svc skills at this location. No wonder they're score is only 2.8. Been with them for over 5 yrs, had rough times 2 yrs ago - owed $315, paid it and they still have an attitude . I can TOTALLY agree with lady who had a hard time in 2009 and now in 2020 NECU wont forgive and remove from credit report - they are truly heartless people who work there!!!

  No matter my question or request, the customer service at NECU is five-stars. I have been with this bank for many years and will be with them for many more. July 2021 (adding to this review): Still amazing. Jennifer Allen is second to none in terms of customer service. I was nervous about meeting with a bank about a loan but I left the meeting feeling confident and knowledgeable. Thank you, Jennifer. I love NECU.

  I recently obtained an Equity loan @ NECU. Allison was outstanding with her explanations, communication, and guidance through the entire process. She made this experience amazing and never failed to be helpful even when I asked similar questions more then once. Exceptional customer service at all times. I love NECU!!!!

  I am a customer of the NECU Portsmouth Branch. I transferred from Bank of America earlier this year and have been working with Allison from the start. She is awesome. I strongly dislike dealing with banks, but she has made everything so easy and less daunting for me. Every time I reach out to her she responds promptly and thoughtfully. I have had a few issues (external from NECU) with my accounts and she was right there to make sure I got the information I needed asap. She is a creative problem solver as she is a professional one. I feel like she is my own personal bank rep and am treated like I am her only customer, not just a number.

  Updated Review 11/25/2020 (from 1 star to 5): I had some issues, mainly out of frustration with their online banking tools. Essentially, the app and the website were not up to par with what I was used to, and I was not happy with some of the hoops I had to go through and lack of support. However, overall, I have had a good experience and what made it even better is the fact that they were very responsive to my concerns, and have worked to address them. These are things that would not occur with a large bank and I am glad that they would take the time to address these issues. I will update the review further as their online banking improves, but at this point, based on some of the changes to come, I am pleased with their dedication to improve their online banking and their desire to listen to a customer's complaints.
