I have always had a great experience working with the Navy Federal team. From members at individual branches to customer service representatives via telephone, they have always been friendly, professional & efficient.

Terrible Mortgage Department. For example, your mortgage is 1000 dollars a month. If you send them two 500 dollar checks on the same day, rather than apply them both to your payment that is due, they will apply them individually (allegedly to principle) because neither is the full payment amount. Meaning your payment will not be made that month. Likewise, if you make your mortgage payment, and a week later send in another payment for the next month, rather than apply it to your next payment, they will apply it to principle. So next month, when you thought you had paid early, you actually never paid at all. It sounds great, right? That they apply extra money to the principle like one would hope. But not really. Money just seems to disappear here. After borrowing 150k, the payoff is about 28k less after 11 and a half years of payments, double payments and extra payments. Without any extra payments, that is 168,000 dollars I've paid so far. Yet they will call and send you certified mail if you are 11 days late. No one there seems capable of finding where all of the extra money you've paid over the years went. No one there seems capable of doing simple math and adding two 500 dollar checks together to make one 1,000 dollar payment. No one there is reasonable enough to realize that someone that has invested almost 200k into a 150,000 dollar loan doesn't need to be called and harassed. Navy Federal has turned the house financed through them into a burden. I don't even live there anymore and have none of these issues with First Bank who handles the mortgage on my other house. And guess what, after only a year their balance has dropped substantially! Screw Navy Federal.

Go rewards rep Aniyah screwed over my wife and I. Highly don't recommend the card. We asked to be transferred but she was pretty rude about it seeming that she’s the highest person up according to her. You’d think they’d have someone who is a little bit nicer working to help people.

I have been a customer of Navy Federal for over 20 years. We lost all of possessions in Hurricane Florence and I received an email from NFCU about relief loans. I called and they went through everything and even asked if I wanted the funds deposited into my checking or savings. Then they checked my credit and denied me. I am going to sue them. If you are not offering true help stop with the false advertising!!! People are hurting

I was happy with Navy Federal until today. I had to talk to 10 people today about a transaction I was told would be reversed last Friday. I was told it wouldn't be reversed today. Then had to go to two supervisors and no return call from their superior. I guess their service is going downhill like everything else.

I am not a member. Someone on my job found my check and forged my signature and cashed it thru e-deposite. My job ran the check down and found that it went through NFCU. I spoke to a customer service agent and hung up after being on hold for 45 min.

After being with this bank for several years I am closing all accounts. I am tired of inaccurate information and recieving fees for a check that is being returned by Navy Federal. A check I have deposited before with no issues. You call in and the representatives are inaccurate in the information they provide. You ask for a supervisor and they are worse than tbe customer service representatives.

Seriously a crooked business. I was hospitalized 7 years ago and navy Federal was not my primary account and the account closed. No letter, not listed on chex system, no idea it closed in the negative. Many years later I open a personal account and they tell me I owe them money. I paid it.... no questions asked I attempt to open a business account because now I am a business owner and no longer employed by the government... but I am not allowed to have a business account for 7 years after the date i paid my negative balance because i do not have "integrity" and I am prevented from a business account because of their business integrity policy. Why should I be punished 7 years later because I was hospitalized and couldn't even walk.

Wishes there was a branch or atm in Tyler Texas. Would make making deposits so much easier especially with money orders because other banks can't or don't do deposits for Navy Federal. Would make taking care of our bank financial business much easier. The only locations I see are two or more hours away 😞 but I love the bank

I have been a member since 1967, yes 1967, and I am running as fast as I can to get away from this bloated monster that left the members, read "owners", in the dirt years ago. Over paid officers, dismal rates to savers, horrible customer service, dismal and misleading online balance and transaction viewing, outrageous $$ spent on sports commercials (refused to provide any ROI info on expenditures), ad nauseum. Certainly NOT the CU I used and promoted for many, many years.
