The staff has always been pleasant & helpful. This starts w/ the front desk greeter who addresses you when you enter & when you leave. THAT IS VERY UNUSUAL THESE DAYS!! We never want to leave this banking institution.

So I got a credit card through NFCU as my fiancé had a good experience. I also opened an account with my fiancé. I really liked the idea that NFCU says they will check every 30 days to see if you are eligible for a credit increase. I was initially approved for a $1000 limit. Not bad at the time. Fast forward a bit and I have never missed a payment. I have tried having a low balance, high balance, no balance, tried paying it off every month, tried leaving a balance, tried paying the min. My credit score has increased quite a bit since openening the card. In over a year no increase at all. Everytime I ask them about it I get the same response. "We can't tell you what goes into a decision for an increase check back next month." Finally I bit the bullet and did a hard pull to increase my limit and WAS DENIED! We keep an average balance of 5k-10k in our account, our household income is 120k, we just recently got approved for a brand new car 44k at 1% interest, got approved for 475k for a house, and I can't even get a credit increase from NFCU. Great card if you are repairing credit but I am convinced they do not check for increases at all. Since having my NFCU card my capital one card has gone from $300 to over $1800 yet not one increase from NFCU. Seriously considering going back to my old credit union. EDIT: Still to this day 12/02/21 I have not received a single credit increase. I have also moved my direct deposit back to my old credit union as they not only financed my brand new ram 2500 (60k) at 4% but they gave me a credit card with a 5k limit. NFCU was a severe disappointment. It's honestly a shame they are connected to servicemen and women. Dropped to 1 star as that's where it should have been to begin with.

This bank is my daughter's bank, she took me in for a notary and the bank sent us out without even seeing us. People standing around talking and not even tending to customers. Just getting paid for doing nothing. I had to go to my bank for professionalism and the proper help. I promised my daughter that this should not happen like this.

Always over and beyond great customer service! Even if the line is long, the wait isn't long. Thank you Navy Federal!! Use them for everything except for a home loan. That department are taking as long as 60 days and up 120 days to close a loan. The underwriting department really has one of the broken links in there loan process, taking up time with decision's that are unbelievable. I have a credit score over 790, and they put me through month's of delay's. Also having a very large asset's in their bank, it just put me in a bad place with the seller. Do your research on them or any Financial institutions before putting in a offer!!

Some very rude tellers who lack customer service work here. Though there are some courteous ones also. The rating applies to customer service and the way that NFCU has changed its deposite policy. Holding paychecks that have been repeatedly deposited into 10 plus year accounts makes no sense.

Amazing credit union bank, I love it. The people here are friendly but it's kind of annoying when they question you about why you lost your debit card, which is what happened to me. I'm sorry I don't have to give you an explanation on why I lost it, I just did! In other NFCU when I lost my card another time all they did was print it right there in front of my eyes. Here, in lakewood I had to go inside an office and tell them what happened and they printed it. So weird.

I apologize I don't remember her name but I was there with my 2 kids around maybe 1030-11 am today (Friday, november 10 2017) and I was stressed to the max. My kids were a mess and what I was trying to get done wasn't working out and it turned into a pain. I was embarrassed and overwhelmed. She was so sweet and encouraging and just made me feel a whole lot better. Not to mention was very patient and went out of her way to help me get what I needed done done. She was blond with glasses. I wish I remembered her name but I hope she know she made my visit today so much better and reminded me why my husband and I started using Navy Federal.

Don't expect to ever do anything quick at this branch.. not only are they lacking the basic ability to have good customer service ethic, but they're lazy and rude as well. Working in a bank myself we weren't allowed to sit behind a teller desk in a chair and bullshit while they're customers waiting! I dunno about these people but this wasn't the way I was taught to deal with customers... I love how the teller then tries to put a hold on my check to inconvenience me in some way but unlike you sweetheart I actually have money in the bank so this doesn't affect me what so ever... id rather deal with the atm out front then these lazy, inconsiderate, pathetic excuse for workers...

All systems down completely. This is the second day in a row. And to think I wanted to switch my bank over today and yesterday. I've been with BOFA for years now and NEVER have they had an outage I've been effected by. But this seems like a monthly occurance with Navy Federal. People couldn't even pull money out at ATM's or branches at some points. It makes you worry if your money and personal information is safe with this bank. It may be best to stick with an $11.00 monthly service charge then risk this amount of unreliability.

Terrible experiance! I had someone commit fraud on my account, and the whole time I was talking to the teller, she acted like it was my fault and treated me like a criminal. Even after talking to the phone reps on my personal time, and not getting anywhere, I go back to the Lakewood branch, and I still get treated like a criminal and get interrogated by the staff since my account is locked. Plus my paycheck was in my account and they told me that they wernt going to help me access my money even though my paycheck has nothing to do with the fact that my account, which is SO secure with Navy Federal, was hacked. So this was my experiance with them and I hope no one else gets treated the way I have at this branch. I went to the Lacey, branch and they actually treated me with dignity and didnt treat me like a criminal and actually got my paycheck from my account. Highly suggest not to go to the Lakewood branch, go to the Lacey branch.
