Roscoe McNees1I applied for an auto loan with MACU and was approved. After the approval I set up delivery with the dealer and waited to receive the vehicle. After multiple delivery delays I cancelled my purchase with the dealer and let MACU know that the loan could be cancelled as well. MACU pushed back saying that they would need the check back from the dealer (who was having difficulty locating the check). Although MACU just as easily could have contacted the dealer and verified the cancellation of the purchase and then voided the check I had to jump through hoops with both companies and ultimately was able to get the dealer to find and return the physical check. MACU has since received the check and been informed again the loan should be cancelled. Instead, they have deposited the check to my savings with an extended hold (again this is their own check which they can verify funds on) and then failed to contact me to let me know what they were doing with the funds. Given the ongoing nature and back and forth to get this resolved (which it still has not been resolved) the service I would expect to receive from a credit union has been subpar. Roscoe P.

Jr Giles5I have NEVER been more impressed with the customer service throughout a loan process, Mortgage Loan Officer Jennie Glade is AMAZING! Quick to respond, Outgoing, Professional, Easy to Communicate with & FAST, Courteous, etc. I have been dreading the whole refinance process, but she has made it pleasurable, I look forward to working with her in the future, brought 3 family members over from other credit unions & plan on getting another loan from her for a family member within the next year. Joe Allred1I will never use Mountain America Credit Union ever again in my life. Their mortgage agents are the laziest and worst workers in this field. We did everything right and on time on our side, always responding immediately and providing whatever was requested as soon as possible. We had to request THREE EXTENSIONS with the seller of the property we were trying to buy because of the agents procrastination. Our first agent, Bronson Buehner, was so terrible, and messed all of our info up from the very beginning, would never answer a phone call nor email or even try to help us. It got so bad they finally assigned us a new agent, Annabelle Medico who also never prioritized our situation and was terrible at communication. On the last day we had to get our Closing Disclosures from Mountain America, Annabelle called me to tell me we weren't getting the Disclosures, but instead we were being denied after dealing with their bull sh*t for 2 months, because of one little issue that should have been taken care of in the first few days of starting the loan process with them. We lost all our earnest money, plus paid for the appraisal on the property, and got TWO hard inquires on my credit for no reason. Nothing but a complete waste of time and money.

Heather Hansen1Are used to love mountain America credit Union until I received a refund for $2800 for furniture I did not receive. Mountain America seems confused with the whole situation and still hasn’t credit me back my $2800 even though this happened in March. The company provided proof to Mountain America credit Union that they had refunded my account and I still don’t have it. I keep going in and hearing the same thing will get back to you. At this point Mountain America credit union has had my money since March, super shady!

Chelsea Selk1I will forever avoid using any MACU branch in the future. When applying to co-sign on an auto loan, I asked a specific question relating to my situation before submitting the application, and was told my concern would not affect my ability to qualify as a co-signer. They went ahead and pulled a hard credit check (which they are always plenty quick to do) and then I was not approved for the loan BECAUSE OF THE ONE SPECIFIC THING I ASKED ABOUT AND WAS TOLD WOULD BE FINE. I then proceeded to make THIRTEEN phone calls over the course of three weeks to try and resolve the situation. MACU offered no helpful solutions even though this whole mess was because of a mistake on their end. On multiple occasions I was told a representative would call me back, but aside from one time it always took me calling back or emailing to receive a response. I never even heard back from the original employee (I was told his name was Thomas) who misinformed me before submitting the application. In the end, we couldn’t move forward with the loan, and MACU didn’t do anything to make right their wrongs. Thankfully there are other competent credit unions in the area, and we will be taking our business elsewhere. I communicated with one individual (Kaylie) from the Sandy branch for most of the time I was attempting to resolve the issue, but will be posting this review with other branches in the valley, as the general MACU “customer service” line was also no help.

Brad1This is easily the worst banking experience I have ever had. Darren Hill needs to get a new job where he can collect money without doing anything. I applied for a loan, spent hours and days filling out all the information and taking in my documents. As soon as all my paperwork was handed in I couldn't get mountain America to email me back or call me back. Finally heard back after months on something that should have taken days. Mountain America has gotten to big to care.

Adi Menon at the Service Center in Sandy was extremely responsive, explained everything in great detail, and made the whole process a breeze.
