Michigan First Credit Union (Inside Kroger) Reviews

Dc Kingston1I’ve had two mortgages through Michigan first, car insurance, business insurance, credit card, personal loan. I need to get away from them everything with them is such a hassle. I have a business received a check from a company that I have received multiple checks from. They put a 10 day hold on my check. All my bills are going late and the lady I spoke to on the phone was rude. I cannot handle doing business with them any longer. I will slowly roll back accounts that I have with them as soon as possible. I recommend never starting to do business with them. I guarantee you will regret it

technologic801Michigan First has become Michigan WORST. I sold my car, and the buyer brought a certified check from a very popular bank. They held it TEN business days!! When I complained they said “it could be a stolen check” gtfoh. What ever happened to CALLING the other bank to verify the certified check is real?? When I mentioned that it was met with a duh duh uh uhhh.. it dumbfounded them. Calling the 365 un-alive call center is probably a peg or two below what I imagine purgatory to be like. RUN RUN RUN away from this place, it’s a credit union in name only - they treat you WORSE than a big bank. Go to a smaller, more personable credit union. Trust me, read the the other reviews.

Charles Wilson1I visited the Michigan First Credit Union located in the Kroger's on 13 mile road off the 94 fwy in Roseville Mi. This was my second visit this week after making a final payment on a vehicle that was graciously financed with this credit union's assistance, I was informed that it would take 10 whole business days to obtain the lien papers regarding this vehicle because my final payment was made with a check, not a personal check, an actual check addressed to Michigan First Credit union from a well known banking institution, this brought about much frustration when an Associate there tells me they have to take this time to conclude if this check is legit, though every payment regarding monthly payments for this vehicle made by myself, Michigan First Credit union never waited to take their funds owed, now that I am owed my lien papers it's a waiting process for me, I plan to close my account with Michigan First Credit union for their lack of attention with regards to this important matter, I would not recommend anyone to bank with Michigan First Credit union after this experience.

Mona Moe1I hate banking with them! I sat on hold for a whole hour just for the representative to hang up on me! They make the most simple things difficult. Years ago when I had my debit card information stolen they CHARGED ME for overdraft fees when they knew my card information was stolen because they had to send me a new card! I was once charged over $30 for an overdraft fee for being short like ¢15 for a withdrawal. I can never get in contact with anyone when I call! It’s time to get a new bank because this is ridiculous! They don’t even deserve 1 star!

Afrkah Cooper1I’ve been with MFCU a little over 2 years and the staff in every location is always friendly and very helpful! However, the 365Live call center representatives are always rude, show NO sympathy and NO understanding. I thought that joining a CU would be better because they “care about their members” NOT. I’m really upset that I received an overdraft fee after getting an automatic withdrawal and then two direct deposits moments later that exceeded the amount of the withdrawal. Needless to say it happened two days before thanksgiving and 4 days before I took my college cap and gown pictures. Setting a struggling college student back. After speaking with a representative and supervisor that were extremely cold and rude. They assured me that there was NOTHING that they could do and sent me on my way. I’ve never banked with a bank that had no grace period or understanding for their members. I’m currently distraught because it set me back. I admittedly scheduled the transactions for a certain day. Not a certain time because I wasn’t given the option and also because I did not know that it mattered. I’m very upset and will be closing my account before work tomorrow morning. I might as well bank with a bigger bank that offers no fees for students, more convenient locations, and a 24-hour grace period for members. (Also, they have no social media crisis communication because there are people complaining on every social platform and no one is replying or diffusing the situations. It’s 2018 do better) Correction they are replying but they are saying to call the same call center that EVERY one is complaining about. Again, Do better.

Amir Sumpter1Terrible customer service only great rep there is Ian who shows that he actually cares and want to try and get you approved... everyone else looks like they don’t wanna be there and even looked at me nasty when I came in and wanted to apply for a loan like I was interrupting their conversation. And they denied me with not even factual information that is based off my credit which is great credit but based it off from outside sources. You go based off the credit not bills that you “THINK” I might have that is not on my credit. I will be closing my account I was thinking of keeping it when I move out of state soon but no and I will not be getting my mortgage through you guys thank you.
Response from the ownerWe are very sorry for your experience. Please contact us privately and provide your contact number so that we can try to resolve your concern.

Chris Jackson1Can't ever get ahold of the actual credit union I'm trying to call. Always puts me in a live 365 queue that I wait for HOURS and still get no answer. Will be closing account after putting up with it for almost 10 years.

Jim Clements1Stood around waiting while the banker sat at her desk shuffling papers and occasionally talking on her cell phone. She did not bother acknowledging me or any of the other customers in front of me. After several minutes of being ignored and figuring that I'd have to wait through service like this for two people before me, I left and went to a different branch...where the service was even slower. This is typical for both this branch and the company.
Response from the ownerHi James, we are so sorry to hear about your experience. We have shared your concerns with Roseville's branch management team. Please call 800.664.3828 if we can assist you with anything else. Thanks!
