As each portion of the loan process was being worked on that team member kept us apprised of the progress. At no point were we asked to resend document or redo documents.   We mistakenly placed our trust in Linda and Matilde to handle our new mortgage loan for our new property. Unfortunately, that was a really bad call. There were many errors made, especially with documents and locking in our rate. We received completely inaccurate information from Matilde. There was no internal office communication nor was there appropriate communication with us. Linda was always "too busy" to answer questions or communicate once they knew they had your business. Annoyed that we had shopped rates since we weren't getting a timely response from Linda's team, they went so far as to run an unnecessary, additional credit report just to see who we had been shopping rates with! Lost all trust. The unprofessional behavior was so atrocious that I had to contact the corporate office in Dallas who apologetically reassigned our loan to an agent in the corporate office. Had we not taken this action, we would've never closed on time. Like another review stated, a real sense of non-urgency. Further, Linda yelled at me and said "we should take our business to the online companies!" Very unprofessional and this office did not represent HRM well. Corporate took care of closing our loan properly and on time. Night and day difference.

  I was working with another company to have my mortgage refinance to take advantage of the lower interest rate. I started working with this company in November of 2020 . In march of 2021 I contacted Maggie of Highlands Residential Mortgagee: it took a little over 2 weeks for her team to bring my refinance to closing . I have worked with Maggie twice and will continue to work with her in any future mortgage endeavors. I highly recommend Highlands Residential Mortgages .
