Cane Fan1UPDATE #2: I still haven't hear from anyone but I did receive a letter in the mail saying my loan application was denied. I know my credit is in the average area so the denial doesn't bother me, but I can't believe that someone couldn't answer one of my phone calls and tell me that so I could notify the car lot. Poor communication and poor customer service. UPDATE: Since posting my review someone from TVA marketing sent me an email and requested I send them my contact information so they could learn more about my experience (which I did right away). It's four days later and I haven't heard from them either. I guess that means we shouldn't be so hard on the loan people because not following up seems to be their standard business practice not just the loan folks. Easy story: --Applied for a used car loan online at lunch time Friday. --Called the branch later that afternoon. They said no answer yet but they will call me back within the hour. --Over three hours passed, no return call so I called them. They said no answer yet but we are open on Saturday we will give you a call tomorrow. --Saturday came and went but no call from TVA. --By 2:30 on Monday still no call. I called the branch to cancel the application. --Was on hold for 10-15 minutes and finally spoke with a loan rep. and told here I wanted to cancel the loan application. I gave her the reference number and she cancelled the application--didn't even ask why I wanted it canceled. --I checked my credit report, they had already ran my credit but after multiple promises and the better part of two business days still no answer. Don't waste your time here folks, go somewhere else. If this is how you get treated before you become a member I can't imagine how much they will take you for granted after you are a member.

Gr8trucker531We have been dealing with them for over 6 years and we were ok until we paid off my wife's car early last year. My wife had set up a savings account when she bought the car and put money in it when she had extra available. Not much but it was a couple thousand dollars. We didn't think much about it until about a month ago when she got a letter stating that they would start charging $10/month because the account was inactive. Well I logged on and was going to add some money to it but couldn't get in because they had marked the account restricted. The next day my wife went to Johnson City and withdrew all our money from the savings account and deposited it into our bank account. They said our account was inactive even though I still had a car loan of approximately $15,000 there. I went ahead and paid it off too by transferring the money electronically from my bank to them. I knew it would take a few days to clear which was no big deal. Except I had someone approach me wanting to buy the car from me. This is where this so called Credit Union crossed the line. They had my funds, the car was paid off, yet I could not get a release of lien so I could sell the car. THEY TOLD ME IT WOULD BE AT LEAST 15 BUSINESS DAYS BEFORE THEY WOULD ISSUE A RELEASE. MY FUNDS ARE SITTING IN THEIR VAULT, BEING LENT OUT TO WHOEVER, AND THEY ARE MAKING INTEREST INCOME ON MY MONEY. YET I HAVE TO WAIT NOT 15 DAYS BUT 15 BUSINESS DAYS. THIS SOUNDS LIKE A PAYDAY LOAN OFFICE SCAM NOT THAT OF A LEGITIMATE CREDIT UNION. I AM ONLY ONE CUSTOMER BUT I'M SURE THEY DO THIS OFTEN. SAY THEY ONLY MAKE $25 FOR HOLDING MY FUNDS FOR THE 15 BUSINESS DAYS BUT THEY ALSO DO THIS TO 100 OTHER CUSTOMERS ALSO. DO THE MATH! I WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THEM AGAIN AND BEFORE YOU PASS JUDGEMENT ON US WE BOTH HAVE CREDIT SCORES AROUND 800 AND I CAN'T EVEN REMEMBER WHEN WE HAVE HAD A LATE PAYMENT ON ANYTHING...

Suzanne Rode5Been a member for about 4 or 5 years and we've always been happy with our services. We just got done going through the Mortgage process. I just can't say enough good things about JoLynda and Michelle. They were absolutely amazing to work with and were so patient. It didn't seem to matter how many questions I had they were so kind and answered them quickly. I HIGHLY recommend Knoxville TVA for everything and if you need a mortgage see JoLynda she is WONDERFUL!!.

Josh Graham5Update Edit: I have recently moved outside of Knoxville. However, I have been with this bank since 2015, it's been a great bank branch. I called to get a mobile bank deposit increase for higher deposit I tried to do today, it did not go through but the manager and rep did try hard to help me and seemed very empathetic towards my needs and it was greatly appreciated. I'll try to go down to the bank in next few weeks. new branch for me in this area, so far, it's a nice place & good customer service reps

Lauren Smith1I do not recommend this bank. During my maternity leave, I accidentally transferred the incorrect amount of money into my checking account to cover my health insurance, causing my account to go negative. I was recovering from serious complications and not sleeping for more than 2 consecutive hours, as any new parent would understand. I received an odd email, ostensibly from TVA, addressed with my name completely misspelled. It looked like a phishing expedition to me so I disregarded the email. I never received a written notice or phone call. I should have logged in to check my statement, but given the sleep deprivation and the fact that I didn’t expect any problems with the account, I didn’t do so. After a couple of months I noticed that my credit score dropped by 124 points, and got my reports from the credit bureaus showing a TVA account in collections. The account was still owned by TVA, not sold to a collections agency, so I immediately went to the branch to pay the balance. I have since spoken with four different people asking if there is anyone I can contact about a goodwill adjustment to have the collections account removed from my credit history. I have been completely blown off. You would think that given the fact that they failed to adequately notify me, and the fact that I explained my personal circumstances, they might be willing to help me restore my credit history. Part of the reason I chose this credit union was to get local, personal service, but I have not received that. I should have chosen a big bank, which at least might have notified me adequately if I overdrew my account.

Larry Jones1HORRIBLE place to do business with. They are INCAPABLE of providing ACCURATE information on a loan. They sent one notice giving the pay off. We paid it. They then sent another saying we owed more money. We paid it. They then sent a collection letter for, are you ready for it? $1.19. IT COST THEM MORE TO SEND THE LETTER THAN THE AMOUNT THEY WERE SEEKING. The shocking thing is that when I called to resolve this, IT MADE PERFECT SENSE to the collection department to spend more money trying to collect a debt than the entirety of the debt owed. HORRIBLE management. And of course, they leave the building at 5:00.00 so there is no way those who WORK for a living can contact them to resolve THEIR errors. STAY AWAY. Finance from the loan shark on the street corner before you even consider borrowing money from them. I feel like every time they give us a number, it is not accurate and they are just going to change it again. Again, DO NOT BORROW from this lender. If you have money in this institution, MOVE IT. Their decision making process is SEVERELY flawed.

Hugo A Fabiano (ANTHONY)2WELL I just joined this bank, I have to say I was disappointed, I just joined this bank, out of all places to be perfectly honest is a bank, they ca n not make up what is they are responsible to their customer, ok I have 2 banks 1 I use to pay what bills I have MY other bank I have had for 20 plus years mostly for investment. which I ok doing myself, I send transfer to this bank monies for what I call my fun monies I am 72 I SO I AM ALLOWED FUN STUFF LOST MY WIFE AFTER 47 YEARS NOW ITS TIME FOR ME TO LIVE A LITTLE’ Ok problem I transferred from my well Fargo act 2000 for the holidays now Well Fargo in a act like mine are right on time it was to be in this bank Mon. i called at 9 am no answer waited till a recording saying we are so busy we will call you ok.. I ck my transfer from well Fargo stated it was in their bank so i called again about 130 again to busy to answer phone now we all know banks are not busy anymore, Loki got a call back after hours the bank was closed hummm they said my transfer was not in their system I asked why wells Fargo roughing shows it is the gal was very well a little rude because I was smarter and did not agree with her tale she was saying I could tell she just was getting me gone early Tuesday I went to my account at your bank the transfer was in it at 3 am so you see was in her bank just was pending it in my account I was give thought to transferring my complete account which is well good size. again I applied for a credit card from you bank I live on my cards for points I have one from my brokerage account but I do not like it all thou its from the bank side, my score credit is over 800 I called a man said I had to sign something I said why he then said we would do it the next day on the pc never happened.. the bank is new and pretty, I am a person who ran his own stores and a company for 26 years in NJ i know customer service is a must and saying the truth is even more important. people know when they are being coned ALSO Waiting till the end of the day to call back after bank closes bad policy well no need to go into that well as always thanking all for their time H A Fabiano

Kiara Long1My husband has been woth you guys for 2 years but EVERY TIME we deposit money into the acct something goes wrong. His card will just up and stop working or money mysteriously comes out. We're always ending up owing you guys before its all said done. I just dont understand. We get the same run around every time. You guys act like its super difficult to link his acct to an gmail so we can look online. You lock his acct after a few purchases i mean ge constantly changing his card . WE CANT EVEN PAY OUR BILLS BECAUSE ONCE AGAIN TVA HAS LOCKED HIS ACCT FOR NO DAMN REASON. all my bills have to go unpaid until you guys open again monday. Its just bull i cant use MY money because you guys are inconsistent. IM OVER IT
