  My family asked Koontz to appraise a family property in 2015. Once the appraisal was complete, my family noticed Koontz neglected to include an addition that's been on the house for decades. When confronted, Koontz was unprofessional about the whole ordeal, to say the least, but raised his appraisal value by about 6%. 2 years later, in 2017 a local bank was approached for a mortgage on the property and the bank turned to Koontz for an appraisal. With a local housing market that's increased 10%, a national housing average that's gone up 8%, this guy provides the bank with an appraisal that is VERY NEARLY THE SAME as the ORIGINAL, WRONG appraisal!! I would strongly advise against using his services! It's not worth the hassle!

  JD has a full and through knowledge of banking, real estate, appraisals, and construction. From a builder's perspective, he listens extremely well, seems to always ask the right questions, and is definitely a go to person for real estate and banking matters for our company!
