Horizon Credit Union Reviews

Dean Hanson1My Aunt has been trying to deal with this credit union for weeks. My Uncle passed away and we had to deal with the Post Falls branch to close his accounts. After an email from James Borders stating he did not have any of the papers my Aunt gave him I thought I would try to help. James Borders was the only person the CU said we could work with. I sent him 3 emails over 3 business days. I called him 5 times and left 2 messages over 3 business days. I called the corporate number today and they said they would contact the branch and someone should contact me by noon. After noon I called corporate again and after a long hold they told me the legal papers I sent were received and James would contact me later today. Now an hour later no call from James Borders or anyone else. It will be interesting to see if anyone from the CU responds to me or this review. They have my information. I have left it with them many times now. Dean Hanson Followup - A manager told James Borders to not respond to me since I was not the beneficiary. She admitted this was not the best course of action. Her intent was to follow laws and procedures to not share confidential information with someone not legally connected as a beneficiary. She recognized I understood these laws very well and that is why I was trying to help my Aunt and the beneficiary. I was simply asking if the legal docs I emailed were received and nobody would respond with a yes or no. Finally I don't understand why the beneficiary was not contacted until after I started "hammering" this credit union's phones and email. It took way too long for them to contact the beneficiary but they did contact her on the day I became persistent with repeated calls and emails. Granted the people I spoke to when I finally got in contact with this branch were polite and accommodating. The beneficiary spoke a person who was very accommodating and easy to work with. I hope this CU recognized the importance of better communication in a timely manner with the beneficiary and others trying to help when this process is needed down the road for another member.

Jeff Lynch1Went in and paid our boat loan off on Monday the 26th. We knew we were close to our payment day and specifically asked if we needed to do anything else. The teller said no I turned off your autopay for you. To put it likely I am Livid they took the payment out of my checking account today Thursday 8/29/2019. In my option there customer service is the worst in the country!

Phillip Montour5The women remember me and made small talk and weren't stone cold boring. They had a little treat for my kiddos to. I have maybe had one person in line ahead of me. This branch seldom has lines.
