      Great local Bank in Iowa, and great fast service. They can do every thing you will need from a bank, checking account, savings accounts and security box. Their places are very convenient, and I like the branch on 1401 South Gilbert street. Specially the air transferring capsule, it is very convenient, drive through and front desk will take care of you in your car.

      For The Flags On The 2 Flagpoles I'm Going To Ask That The United States Flag Gets Permanently Removed And Switched Over To The 2 Blue Flags With The Hills Bank Logo On It Also With The Green H Logo On It For Something Different Instead Because It Represents Hills Bank And The Business I'm Requesting For The Idea To Please Happen

      This is absolutely the worst banking experience I have had in my life, I am astounded at the sheer repeated incompetence I have encountered. For 6 years now I have had a mortgage and primary loan on my home with Hills. To pay this amount normally I pay with one check for the combined amount. On at least 7 occasions they have been unable to figure out how to apply payment to each respective account. This leads to a notice in the mail that I have delinquencies on my payments, subsequently leading to a great deal of frustration and stress. As this is a banking establishment, I would have hoped they would be able to handle simple math to properly apply payments, in fact, it's rather shocking that simple tasks such as this are mishandled so frequently. As I was tired of dealing with this, I was about to switch to US Bank, however, I am moving in the near future so I decided to stay and could ride out the few months left with them and hopefully not run into any road bumps in that short time frame. To help eliminate any future payment issues, I even began to write two separate checks for the payments to avoid any confusion. If this situation were not frustrating enough, I discovered today that Hills bank neglected to pay my March taxes out of my escrow account that has more than sufficient funds to do so. So now, I have a notice from the county essentially stating that my home is no longer fully in my possession due to long overdue taxes. This is especially frustrating as I'm currently trying to sell my house and was unaware this situation was occurring. I cannot sell my house without a clear title. This money is necessary to pay for my new home I am closing on out of town in a week. As this is a holiday weekend, clearly this will not be able to be resolved in a timely manner. WORDS CANNOT EXPRESS HOW STRESSFUL THIS HAS BEEN. I would NEVER recommend Hills Bank to ANYONE. Not only have I had a horrible experience, but now they have put me in an extremely unideal situation that is negatively impacting other important aspects of my life including my future (hopefully) home. I am astounded at the sheer incompetence.

      Always terrific service. Just a couple of days ago I had an issue with my account and let me tell you, Brooke L. worked with me and reassured me that I would be ok. I could not be more appreciative. Thank you, Hills Bank. You've got a customer for life!!!

      I have used Hills Bank for a few years now and never had anything to complain about until today. I lost my debit card almost 3 weeks ago and called the Gilbert St. branch for a replacement. The woman I ordered a new card with did not ask to verify my address but I have my home loan through them and I get all my bank statements to my house, so I knew they have my address. Yesterday was business day 11 since ordering a new card so I called the Gilbert Street Branch again only to find out that they sent the new card to my previous address from a few years ago. It was explained to me that the system automatically sends new cards to the last place a card was sent, even if that doesn't match what they have for a current address. I was told and that I could go to any Iowa City Branch for an instant card replacement. Today I used the one hour I had off work to go to the Muscatine Ave branch for the instant card replacement and was told that I had to go to the Gilbert Street location. Overall, very frustrated with Hills Bank. Update: Hills bank was able to provide me with a new card later the same day and I received a call from the Gilbert St. branch manager. After talking to Dawn, I feel much better about the situation and am upping my rating to what it would have been before I lost my debit card and ordered a new one.

      Most of the time I get excellent service from Hills Bank bankers. Today I went with my wife to the S Gilbert Street location to get help with a card. Forgot the banker name, but she wasn't very nice. She wasn't in a good mood at all. We tried to explain our issue but she didn't look happy at all and not kind with her responses. We needed also to activate a card and her attitude got worse. We felt so bad that we even wanted to ask for other issues we had but we decided to leave. At the end we told her we were sorry for bothering her and she didn't even look at us and not even had the respect of saying anything, not even tells us to have a good day, like any other good banker. Just said Nothing. We don't want to think her attitude was because we are hispanic, but we didnt feel good about it. We let the recepcionist know on our way out. Definitely, if I need help again and go to the bank and she's the only one, will go to another branch.

      I love this bank they treat you great they very friendly and I enjoy they free coffee every Friday. But I can't enjoy it no more since the virus took over I always wanted to know what brand of coffee they use if anyone knows the name please please please please share 🙏 anyways great place to open up free checking account they awesome
