  As a first-time home buyer, the mortgage process is extremely intimidating. Jesse Gibbs was recommended to me by my realtor and after shopping around he was the most personable and knowledgeable contact for a mortgage lender I could find. The big name banks are appealing, but the concept of using a private company interested me more because I felt I would have more one-on-one opportunities to communicate with my lender and not feel like one out of 1000 people trying to complete the mortgage process. Jesse and his team were extremely helpful throughout the process by being available for questions, checking in to give updates on the process, always open to discuss what was happening during the mortgage process and why, offering advice on how to navigate each step, and constantly reassured me that this process is daunting but that the finish line was near.   Mark Milam was great to work with! He gave us detailed but easy to use tools to understand estimated mortgage payments and closing costs during the buying process. This allowed us to get a better idea of each home's affordability prior to submitting an offer. In the end, the estimates were on target with final costs. Highland Mortgage uses a secure web-based tool that can quickly verify your information for pre-approval and loan approval while eliminating the need to manually pull financial statements and background information. Overall it was a very smooth experience!
