  Phil was extremely helpful with helping my wife and I get a mortgage for our house! We could not take the conventional methods of getting a loan because I am self employed. Phil helped us to get approved for a bank statement loan. There were some hiccups along the way that were in no way Phil’s fault, just your normal things that may come up when buying a home. Phil was able to guide us through each step and made everything very smooth. I highly recommend Phil Russo to anyone looking for a mortgage!

  Phil delivers white glove service but treats you like family. This was the first time using him for my own purchase, but through nearly a decade in real estate, he has helped clients of mine purchase their homes with as little stress as possible. He is available, attentive, professional and knowledgeable with an elevated level of care and attention to detail. We had a difficult HOA to deal with and weren’t sure if we could actually close but Phil worked overtime and made it happen.   I used to be a loan officer and worked in that capacity for years, so I have a keen eye for the good, the bad, and the ugly in the mortgage industry. Phil Russo is patient, responsive, knowledgeable, efficient, and a true professional. Here is a little background on my specific purchase experience. My wife and I began our purchase process started in March 2021, so like many other areas in NJ, the housing inventory for Summit was tight, homes were coming on the market for mere days before getting scooped up, and the market is/was extremely competitive, with loads of additional buyers coming from Manhattan to join the party. In the end, the offer made on the home that my wife and I successfully purchased created a unique loan scenario that would need to be accommodated in order for us to win a 10+ multi-offer purchase bid with at least 1 maybe 2 offers higher than ours. With this competitive market in mind, I called Phil to see if there was a way to structure my loan in a way to make it more attractive for potential seller’s. We landed on a strategy, the seller’s accepted our offer, and with rates ticking up from all-time lows as we were coming out of attorney review, Phil got us an us an awesome rate in the 2s. Part of our offer was agreeing to the seller’s preference for a 60-day close, but the loan process was smooth and done within a week or two. Being that we had a wait a while for the seller’s to close, mortgage rates started to pull back down from recent highs, but Phil was way ahead of us because the lender chose not only had the best rates for high balance, but they also had favorable terms. Long story short, we ended up with a rate 0.25% lower than where we started, the process was easy, Phil guided my wife and I from start to finish, answered all our questions, made us feel very comfortable and assured simply through his wealth of experience, demeanor, and his ability to eliminate the stress from today’s even more stressful purchase environment. Phil Russo, and his partner Shawn Hickey, are among the most knowledgeable, professional, and genuinely caring people that I have ever met.   Phil is absolutely the best there is! When my fiancé and I started looking for a home, we contacted Phil. From the first conversation, to our closing Phil was by far the easiest to work with in this entire process. I cannot recommend him enough! He is absolutely the best there is, so knowledgeable. I never felt confused or left out of the loop because he is in constant communication and leading you to the next step. He is a must in the home buying process.
