Stephanie Bates5I had the best experience with Gold Star Mortgage Financial. My lender April was absolutely best. She had sure that understand every part of the process and made sure it was stress and worry free. April was very professional and helpful in every way. If and when I had to do this again, I would definitely without hesitation ask for April. She went far and beyond to make my dream come true. Thanks you for everything you have done.

Ben Keller5Ron out of Ann Arbor was a huge help in allowing us to win our new home and secure our mortgage. This is our third home purchase and this went as smoothly was we could have ever of hoped. Ron took the time to call the seller's agent to make sure they understood why our offer was contingent but yet we were very real and very serious buyers and were solid in our offer. I don't think we would have gotten the house without that extra reassurance.

Jordan Osborne5I used Eddie Abdallah for our lender needs and he exceeded expectations. I had just fired my previous lender for incompetence and Eddie was able to get my loan down in ~2 weeks, get me a lower rate, and save me thousands on closing costs. Eddie was also extremely easy to talk to and work with. I could tell he actually cared about me and my needs, not just my money. I highly recommend Eddie to those searching for a lender.

Jo-Anne McRobbie1Gold Star Mortgage is quite possibly the worst mortgage company to deal with. The people that were supposed to buy our house were going through Gold Star. Matt was their lender. He was unprofessional, extremely difficult to get ahold of, and his arrogance got the best of him. When trying to escalate the issues through Gold Star, we continued to get the run around. And it took days to get a hold of someone. It was terrible! Gold Star needs to up their standards in whom they hire otherwise they will continue to lose deals. Matt was caught in a number of lies. He would say one thing and do another and continued to give the run around. Come to find out, it was because he made a very rookie mistake on the deal. The loan was submitted in the beginning of June and we had to extend three times. It was always “3-5 more days”. Not only did the buyers lose out, but because of the mistakes Matt made, it cost us A LOT of money. I will never work with Gold Star again. Once we started telling more people of our terrible experience with Gold Star, more and more people started telling us that they have had similar situations. If any sellers out there are presented with an offer with Gold Star as the lender, RUN. If you are a buyer looking for a lender- find someone other than Gold Star.

Kendall Cook1It looks like they have 4.5 stars because of how they were as a company SEVEN YEARS AGO. They are the ABSOLUTE WORST mortgage company to deal with. My mortgage got purchased out by wells fargo back in November of 2020. I did not ONCE receive a letter, email, or phone call on my statement whatsoever. I have called in multiple times within the last 3 months to see how I can pay my mortgage. You would think once I get a statement I pay correct? Wrong. I was only offered the option to pay over the phone, and consistently get told they can just send me a receipt. Not to mention the "Wonderful" service and attitude you will get once on the phone with someone. If you ever have the opportunity to work with this company, don't.

Autumn Scott1So I have waited a while before leaving my review as a cool down period to reflect on my refinance experience. 27 days later all I can say is I'm happy it's over I hope they sell my mortgage and I will NEVER use Gold Star Mortgage again. Hind Wood was very unprofessional and rude. First she didn't lock the rate, always calling and saying she was trying to get the loan done stating the loan was with the underwriter when it wasn't. The closing cost due from us changed at least 6 times from no money to $2500 to $500 and so on. She would call late in the evenings 4:50, 8:30 and even 10pm asking for documents when it's the close of the business day or the middle of the night then act like it was my fault I could not get the documents right away. She will hang up on you when you call her out on her mistakes or you disagree with her in any way. Hind's attitude is terrible and will threaten you with not closing if she is angry with you, not answer her phone and ignore you. The loan did close but only after a screaming match and demanding to speak to Hinds boss. If I could give them 0 stars I would. Best advice look elsewhere for a loan save yourself time this company is a headache.

Michael Bambery1One problem after another, from the closing through them changing payment addresses on me 3 times in 4 months and them losing a payment (which has required me to spend 1-2 hours of my time tracking it down for them).

Bo Bergeson5Justin Derisley made our first refinance an extremely smooth and easy process. We locked in at a great rate and closed in less than 3 weeks from start to finish. Justin was very knowledgeable and easy to talk to, and he never made me feel like I was dealing with a used car salesman like some of the other companies I had dealt with. A lot of our communicating was through email, and he was very prompt at getting back to me. Thanks Justin for such a great experience!

Ron Burg5We recently refinanced with Gold Star Mortgage Financial Group with Matthew Mitchell as our Loan Originator. This is our fourth refinance over the past 10 years and proved to be the most well organized and efficient processes of all thanks in large part to Matthew’s efforts and coordination. From start to finish the process was completed in less than four weeks during which time we were kept well informed of the status of the refinance. Matthew went so far as to even setting up the closing at our home for our convenience. I cannot think of a single thing during the entire process that could have been done better, more efficiently, or with more customer focus. A well-deserved “thank you” to Matthew and the entire team at Gold Star. I highly recommend Gold Star and Matt if you are in the market for a home mortgage.

Jim Pierce5Alex Stone was wonderful to work with. From my initial contact with her to the completion of the loan, she was professional, informative, accessible, was quick to respond, answered questions, and had quick turn-around for anything related to the set-up of the loan via email, text, or fax. She worked to quickly approve and close the loan. Thanks to Alex and to Gold Star Mortgage Financial Group for a job well done and a very satisfied customer. I will be sure to recommend Alex and your Company to anyone looking for a loan or to refinance.
