Justcallmecraig5This is the best bank in Cookeville! They make you feel welcome and treat you like family. I love the fact that they care so much for their customers, and always go above and beyond to show appreciation for your business. Kelly leads a great team! I want to personally thank Julie, Tammy, and Monica for always being so kind, and pleasant to work with!
Response from the ownerThank you so much for such a great review! We will let the Cookeville team know how much you appreciate them!

Shawn McGlothlin5I moved both my personal and my business accounts from a different local bank to First Volunteer because the entire staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. Any issue I have had has been dealt with swiftly and professionally. Cindy and Kelly have gone out of their way to assist me with any financial and account needs and issues any time I needed them. I always feel welcome and comfortable when I walk into the building and can honestly say I have never seen anyone display a negative attitude or be too busy to say hello and ask how things are going.
Response from the ownerThank you so much for taking the time to leave us this amazing review. I have passed along the compliment to Kelly and Cindy and they were so happy to see your review!

Kirsten Knox5My time spent with this bank has been nothing short of excellent! Cindy Irwin worked above and beyond to make sure my first car loan was an affordable and hassle free experience. She was very personable and professional and I genuinely enjoyed my time working with her. Any troubles I ran into or questions I had she was able to fix or answer very quickly. I cannot recommend Cindy or this bank enough!!
Response from the ownerThank you for sharing those kind words, Kristen. We will pass along the compliment!!

Phyllis Brown5I’ve been banking for over 40 years. This bank is the friendliest I’ve ever dealt with. The staff is very knowledgeable and up-to-date on everything that I’ve had questions about or needed. My loan was processed very quickly and efficiently, and I love being able to do my checking account transactions online when I can’t make it to town. Definitely first rate!
Response from the ownerWe are so grateful for your kind words. Thanks for sharing your review with us and the community!

Chris Giaquinto3It would be really great if they could have any kind of Saturday hours. I understand wanting to have your weekends free but the fact that im gone all week and only have Saturday to get banking, done it would be really helpful if you could do half a day.
Response from the ownerChris thank you for your review. Currently we do not have Saturday banking at our Cookeville location, however we do have a branch about 20 minutes away in Monterey that provides Saturday banking in the drive thru from 7:30am to noon. We hope that you find this helpful for your Saturday banking needs.

Sadie Jones1This organization must not require any previous experience or education in lending for their loan officers. The lack of knowledge and competence I experienced during my encounter with Cyndi is astonishing. She was very defensive and rude when I asked questions she couldn’t answer and apparently her ego is too big to ask her superiors. She complained about the company making them work during COVID19 while she should be grateful she still has a job. She came across as a very negative and conceited person, definitely doesn’t belong in customer service. She must have a miserable life, I’ll pray she sees better days.
Response from the ownerWe are sorry to hear about this experience. Although, we thank you for the feedback and hope to grow from it.

Amy Lipinski5The Staff here is so great!! Cindy Irwin and Kelly Sullivan were so helpful, especially helping us out with a loan. They really went out of their way to help us and I feel like they truly wanted us to succeed. We didn't just feel like a number. I would recommend this branch to anyone and I have.
Response from the ownerThank you for the review, Amy! I will pass along the compliments to them both. Thanks again!

Haven LaCoax5My relationship with this bank has been the most rewarding and genuinely enjoyable "business" experience I believe I've ever had. Firstly, and in no discernible order of importance or worth, their bank app is far more useful than others. As a small business owner, the feature that allows you to take a photo of the receipt corresponding to the recorded debit, means that I have substantially more information to take to my poor accountant to help her make heads or tail of my wild forays outside of my shop. Secondly, I'd like to make a shoutout to all the wonderful people who almost remember how to spell my name...every time I go in. The exquisite team of tellers: Tobuscus, whom begins pulling up your information before you even get to the counter, Julliard, personable and proper, and Meechelle, whom I believe I've only ever seen in shades of lavender. The super smart, blonde lady (I know...it's weird) Kellogg Suleiman, and the insurance lady who could definitely beat me at arm wrestling, Mrs. Thea. This is certainly not the entire team of this magnificent menagerie of monetary mastery, but it's the portion that I have dealt with the most, and the only ones whose names I could remember. [EDIT]: I just did some Googlering to be sure about the spelling of one of the above names in particular and now I feel even more special. I slightly misspelled her name, but I think I was pretty close... Kellogg Suleiman's actual name is Kelly Sullivan, and she's the branch manager! Not only is she super smart and has her own desk in her own room, but she's the manager. This is surprising to me, for one reason alone... (and it's not sexism) I've been a member of a couple different banks along my life and I've been into branches of those banks all over the place. If I had to take a stab at a number, I would stab one billion. That...doesn't really have anything to do with what I'm talking about though, it's just a big number and would probably be pretty easy to stab. In all of those branches I've been in, with those other banks, the manager is always cooped up in the back somewhere. If I manage to get a few moments of their time, I feel that, at best, I'm intruding on their work. Their time is far more valuable than mine and whatever my question is, I better get it out quickly so that they can get back to the super important stuff they're doing. (I'm sure it's not Solitaire) However...that's why I never expected Kellogg to be the branch manager! Her office is right near the front door, her door is open and she's ready to help. I've barged in on multiple occasions, full of sawdust and furniture polish, and she still takes the time to answer whatever asinine questions I might have that day. To me, time is invaluable. The crew here at this bank has helped me speed along at each and every turn as I navigate the chaotic seas of Early Onset Old-Man Brain and Body and try to keep my business flowing as smoothly as I wish other things would. Like honey, takes forever to get it out of the bottle. Oh! I almost forgot, they gave me a business loan! While I was waiting for my other plans to come through, I needed a supplemental loan to get things rolling. If my memory serves me correctly, we actually finalized some of the bits over the phone while I was out of state. Not only that, (and now I feel really bad), but Mrs. Sullivan (WHOSE PERSONAL CELL NUMBER I HAVE [I'm blowing my own mind right now]) walked me through it while she was on VACATION. WHAT?! Yes, I am remembering that right. She was at some redneck event (she can't be all perfect) and through the scream of engines in the background, she helped me get my loan and save my business before it died...before it even had a chance to live. She's the bomb diggity. (I think that's a good thing, I'm not quite hip with the lingo these days) Anyway, to wrap things up and actually get to work, this is a great bank with incredible staff. Go bank there. Divorce your current bank, they don't treat you as well as First Volunteer Bank will. Trust me... It's a boring name, but they are on top of it there.
Response from the ownerWow! Thank you for your kind words Haven! We are so lucky to have customers like you.
