  I have had great experiences dealing with First South Financial. The Mortgage process and refinancing process seemed very effortless for me. Thier rates are very competitive and thier responsiveness to customers needs is quick and courteous. I would certainly recommend them.

  I have been banking with First South for 15 years and have never had a problem. Not only do I have my checking and savings with FS but I also have my mortgage, car and a visa. Recently refinanced our house and everything went very smooth. It took longer than normal, because like us, everyone is taking advantage of the low interest rates. Will not go anywhere else.

  Lois was knowledgeable, patient and kind. I think she made my experience what it was - wonderful! Making decisions and closing on my house was easy with her help. She guided me through every step.   As a first time homebuyer, I was quite nervous about the home loan process. However, I was referred to Billy Bernard for a mortgage loan pre-approval and I'm so glad I was. I received exemplary care and an amazing interest rate for my home loan. Billy was incredibly patient with all of my questions and concerns, and was quick to respond. I would recommend to any first time homebuyer (or any other) to work with Billy at First South. I can genuinely say it was a pleasure to work with him and he helped reduce the stress I felt during the process.

  f I could give zero stars I would. Let me first say I have my car loan through this place, therefore I THOUGHT this would be a good place to have a house loan through. I cannot tell you the best place but I can definitely tell you the worst. I had been working with my loan officer for months and everything was perfect according to him. I personally took all of mine and my fiancé’s information to him and put it in his hands. He told us to be looking for a home. Our realtor found us a home and we wanted it. We gave all the information to the loan officer and he pre approved us. We put in an offer and it was accepted! Now here comes the bad parts. I had been having issues contacting my loan officer he would go days without replying to a text or answering my calls, but still when he would he would tell me everything was fine. My realtor needed the pre approval letter and I had to all but go up there and type it it up myself for him to send it to her. He eventually did. Our offer in the home was accepted so contracts began to be drawn up. My fiancé and I decided to keep looking and decided that house just wasn’t for us so we withdrew our offer. Even my realtor had asked me several times if I thought about switching loan companies because she was having a horrible time trying to get things from the loan officer and contacting him. I told her I wanted to stay with him due to my loan being there and we’ve been working with him so long. I chalked this up to him maybe having something against women because he would hardly ever talk to me or my realtor who was also a woman. But whatever I ignored it and just had my fiancé talk to him. Flash forward about a month we found a house we really really wanted and it was cheaper than the original home. We knew the people selling the house so we quickly came to an agreement on price and told our loan officer. He told us everything was great just let him know for sure price and he would get everything set up. I let him know no response of course so I had my fiancé call him. The loan officer told us everything was fine and even spine with my fiancé the week we were supposed to sign the contract and said everything was fine! Well come to find out he doesn’t even work there anymore and he had been talking to us like everything was perfect! We speak to someone at the main office and she informs me that the previous loan officer never even put my fiancé information in the system what so ever! Whatever pre approve letter he sent to my realtor was not even real or wasn’t a pre approval letter to begin with. He also had no information about the house we wanted in the system such as address, sale price, etc. so now as of today 10-2-2020 we have had to lose the home we wanted because apparently they couldn’t do the loan. And all we got was an “I am sorry” so no I definitely do not and will not recommend this place to anyone! And hopefully there is something that can be

  Don't waste your time with these folks. We have been trying to refinance our home for over 4 months now. They were eager to get us to get the process started & offered a great special. But since then everything has stalled & they won't even return phone calls or emails. When we do get a person on the phone excuses & we are sorry is all we get.

  I’ve had a wonderful experience with First South. They even caught on that my account had been hacked and notified me long after the local branches had closed! I went in the next morning and looked over the print off of my account and was given a new visa debt card on the spot!! I’ve never had a situation resolved so smoothly at any other bank! Great Job First South!!

  I have banked here over 20 years and wonder ….. why the hell have I not left? This credit union or whatever title they give themselves today are useless. I have never gotten a loan from this institution and now the customer service has drastically dropped. Not to mention some of the tellers are rude and " shady ". So be sure and COUNT YOUR MONEY on the spot! I use to recommend this place but I now will tell you RUN AWAY.
