  Eddie, Christopher, and Min in particular made the loan process smooth and were super fast to reply, even at odd hours and on weekends. Very grateful for the team and their ability to help with a quick closing. Communication and transparency were all positive experiences, which we are grateful for.

  We used First Savings Mortgage to buy our first home in Alexandria, VA. Our loan officer, Chris Cox, was superb. He's super responsive and knowledgeable. He broke down every cost associated with purchasing a home. Their online portal made it super easy to get everything uploaded to one place. Would 100% use them again for our next property in Northern Virginia!

  Steve Fox and the rest of the team at First Savings were indispensable to our home search and purchase. After having a not-so-great experience with our bank’s lending service, our realtor directed us to several local lenders, including First Savings. It was a short search, however, because we were immediately impressed with Steve’s responsiveness and thoroughness. Steve did an excellent job walking us through the mortgage process and taking the time to understand our situation to find us the best rate possible. We particularly appreciated their mortgage calculations, which greatly aided our search by accurately estimating monthly payments and upfront closing costs. They were also incredibly responsive to our inquiries and requests for pre-approval letters for offers, oftentimes on short notice! When one of our offers was eventually accepted, the loan paperwork and appraisal were completed in a timely fashion and closings costs ended up being the exact estimated amount. We could not be more pleased with Steve and First Savings Mortgage!

  I just completed my second home loan application and closing process through First Savings. Thad Wise and his team supported me through both purchases and made the process quick and easy. Their online portal makes sharing documents simple and secure, and Thad's team is very communicative - even through the weekends. Special thanks to Eddie for getting our preapproval letter done last minute and on the weekend.

  After I submitted my prequalification application, I received no contact until I received a form denial letter 9 days later stating my income did not support the requested loan. I came through the Virginia Housing program; it would have made sense to speak with me about whether I might qualify for a smaller loan, or what other steps I might take to qualify in the future. I'm fine with being denied, but I find the lack of personal contact unprofessional. Every other lender has spoken to me about what adjustments might be needed; I suppose First Savings doesn't want your business if it requires any effort on their part.

  I can’t say enough good things about my experience working with Greg Simmons and First Savings! I attended a first time home buyers seminar Greg did way back in 2016 and 5 years later he helped me through every step of making my home ownership dream come true! Professional, personal service, I asked a million questions even after settlement day and Greg and his team have always been so helpful.

  Don't rely on OLD reviews! They used to have a great company but now contracts are wrong, numbers keep changing, high pressure on front end and then total lack of service. You have to keep an eye on everything to keep them honest - way too much work. We used them before, but after this recent experience, they don't seem to be running an honest business anymore and they certainly don't care about the customer.

  I got loan from Steve for our townhouse in Fairfax. Lowest rate and blazing fast response. I have never met a guy as responsive as Steve. I was recommended by a friend and I recommended him to my friends and will keep on doing. I moved to a different state where he does not lend. Still I am working with one of his friend/co-worker because of his service he provided in Virginia.
