  I'm a first-time home buyer and I've heard stories about how confusing, difficult, indeed even frightening the home loan process can be. However, I was recommended to First Rate by a very good friend of mine and I'm glad he did. The process was easy. The paperwork was fairly intuitive and for those things I didn't understand, my contacts at First Rate were quick to respond with clear and concise instructions. By the time everything was said and done, the only hard thing with the whole process ended up being the wait on the seller and even that wasn't horrible. If you want a good mortgage broker who works hard to find the best deal for you, First Rate is, in my opinion, going to be your best choice here in Alaska!

  From start to finish this is the team you want and need! Josh and Kim are hands down the best out there. Josh made this step in our lives as simple as is could get, and when it came time to complete our purchase I couldn't have asked for anyone better than Kim. Together they make the process as streamline as possible! I have never in my life seen anyone reshuffle numbers to make what I wanted work. He went above and beyond with every step. He has excellent communication skills and will pick up your call day or night-and if for whatever he can't in that moment he will text you back right away to let you know when he is available. His references are all amazing and he is 100% on top of his game. Kim has the patients of a Saint. Working with our title company was a struggle in and of its self but my closing had additional steps needed almost every step of the way, she took every single one as a learning opportunity NEVER dropping the ball. She was with me every step of the way even making three way calls with me to walk me through whatever we needed. Furthermore she was prompt and kind, again always having amazing communication every step of the way. I cannot wait to do further business with this company and will never go anywhere else! Five stars is not enough for what this company has done for my family if I could give more I would, because they deserve it.

  From the beginning to the end of my experience buying my first house it was effortless. I felt informed throughout the entire process, I was kept up to date daily with changes or things needed. I basically bought a house using my iPhone, I only had to sign once in person and that was at the title company at the very end. I would recommend anyone I know to work with Slavik and Kim at First Rate, it was a memorable experience for all the right reasons. Thank you guys!!!!!!!!!

  I was very impressed and pleased with first rate. Bree was amazing, she was efficient, she communicated well, and simplified the information so I could understand the process. I used first rate for my duplex, and recently for my new place. I’ll definitely use them again for future purchases and recommend them to others. Also, they have a staff member designated for customer satisfaction and feedback, which is great! It means they really care about finding ways to improve their systems and the company.
