  Worst experience, never will use this bank again. So bad, after getting a home mortgage, we immediately refinanced with another bank. Won't give this bank another penny or the time of day. They do not honor their word, nor their contracts. Our first loan officer was fired, the next loan officer restarted the entire process causing weeks of delay and resubmittal of all the documents. That went to review, then more documents needed, then review, then more documents needed, and two more times. Got the clear to close, on closing day, the bank called and said we can't close. Finally closed two weeks later after more documents again causing problems with the sellers, moving companies, attorneys. The bank didn't care, and didn't honor their commitments, but we had to.

  Jen Chaney at First Federal navigated me through the mortgage loan process in a knowledgeable and effective manner that enabled me to close in 30 days. I was so thankful that she communicated calmly and answered all questions in timely manner, and made the process less hectic for me. Closing in 30 days? I thought it was not possible.   Nicole was very pleasant and professional to work with. After that I would only use First Federal if you enjoy being buried in paperwork. We had to submit the same paperwork 2-3 times. It became very taxing during the already stressful time of moving and buying a new house. It all worked out in the end, the process was just more than it should have been. Thank you.

  My husband and I have had three loans with First Federal Bank. Each time we worked with a Loan Officer that was very helpful. They went out of the way to make sure we knew what was happening, answer questions I had and made us feel like they really cared about our loan and satisfaction. From my perspective, First Federal wants their customers to be repeat customers. They are a local bank that depends on their customers and they work really hard to earn repeat business. They are my first choice when I need a loan!

  Pick anywhere but here, “the worst closing experience ever”. You will send them the same docs over and over and over again. We previously used Farm Credit and it was amazing, i am so sorry we used FSB. What was promised in 30 days, turned into 60+ days and multiple emails back and forth with execs. The ONLY way to get something done, is to go up the ladder.

  I was with another lender who was dragging their feet big time; trying to get a construction to perm loan. I called Ruairi Songer who immediately got the ball rolling and I was able to get more accomplished in two days with him than I was with the other lender in two months. I hope First Federal knows what an asset they have in Ruairi. He was also able to coordinate everything with the builder and kept checking in to make sure things were going smoothly but also timely. If you are looking for friendly service and up front professional service and great rates then call Ruairi at First Federal. I'd give seven stars if i could. Update to my original review. A few more shout outs to Dina & Alyssa who assisted Ruairi in processing my loan along with the entire FFB team. The amount of attention I got was unbelievable and the level of professionalism exceeded my expectations beyond my comprehension or what I can articulate in words. These folks are amazing and I highly recommend them. You will not be disappointed. I close on my loan in few days and the process was as incredible as it could possibly be. I'll be back for any banking needs in the future once I get over this current hurdle of building a house. Thanks again FFB for treating me more like family instead of just a customer. :-)

  DO NOT GET A LOAN THROUGH FIRST FEDERAL BANK! I can honestly say these people have the worst communication skills. Honestly, I think a 3 yr old could of processed our loan with better communication. We have been lied to repeatedly over the last three months, ie: telling us he would be running my credit the next day to make sure it would show a 12 month credit history, so we can send it to USDA so they could finish up on their end and we could get a clear to close, knowing that he was going on vacation the next day and would be out, completely screwing us over to the point we lost the house because the sellers would not extend our contract for another time. They leave you in the dark almost everyday, ie: asking a question and they respond with “we will get back with you before the end of the day” and never do. This process was the most frustrating thing I have ever been through. Seriously, I advise you do not get a loan through these people and if you do be prepared to spend months of terrible communication, money, credit history checks, them losing your information, and procrastinating so long that you possibly lose your house in the process. I would have honestly thought this place was a scam if I had not seen the bank in person my self. We ended up terminating our loan after 5 months. We basically gave them an ultimatum and told them we needed to know something, ANYTHING, by the end of business day or we would terminate our loan and we heard nothing, not a single update on our loan but they had the audacity to call the SELLERS REALTOR and update her and not the people that was taking out the loan. Then after we terminated our loan they sent us the closing paperwork on the house just to stick one last knife in us while they could. DO NOT GET A LOAN THROUGH FIRST FEDERAL BANK!

  Unorganized. A loan program fell through due to bad internal communication. Overall was given a rate and terms with no origination fee that were changed, then spoke to higher up official who gave me terms as originally agreed, but then an origination fee was charged. I also sent in a check for appraisal that sat for a week.
