Fifth Third Bank & ATM Reviews

jessica scaglione1I started a payment processing system at 5/3rd for my new business with Ryan Gleason. 5/3rd had a great business reputation in my mind before this experience. However, my account wasn’t properly handled leaving me with two open accounts, therefore charging me double the processing fees. After months of trying to get some assistance I have repeatedly been ignored and had to discover on my own I hadn’t signed up for a 5/3rd service at all and was sold a account from a 3rd party vendor. The experience had been terrible, months long and still unresolved. Do not handle business here, it will loose you time and money.

osdy orta1Ridiculous! This place discriminates against race and ethnicity, I came to cash a check, I showed them 3 different ID's then Haley called the check issuer to confirm she wrote the check, like if I had stole it or forged it, then after 12 minutes of background check, they asked me for a "convenience fee" of $5, I asked if they could waive it, with a great smile Abbie S. Told me that was not possible. Do yourself a favor and don't come to this branch, bad treatment, fees and more fees is what you get at 5/3 Bank on Westnedge ave. NEVER AGAIN

Kaitlyn Mayfield1We have literally had nothing but problems with fifth third. Originally we thought they were excellent. A substantial amount of money was taken out of our account without our knowledge and they reversed all of the fees associated with it as (they admitted) it was their fault. Fast forward to the government shut down. Times were rough, so we asked them to reverse a couple fees. They said they couldn’t do it because they had previous helped us (and by helped us, they mean they did the right thing and reversed erroneous fees). Fast forward to today. I cashed a check for another substantial amount and paid the fee for immediate funds. So I sit on the phone with them in the grocery store and they tell me there’s suddenly a retroactive hold on my check because the DEPARTMENT OF TREASURY “might have” written a bad check. So they can’t release my hold and they won’t refund the fee. I talked to another “specialist” on the phone and she said “it’s not like we don’t want to help you, it’s that we can’t.” I proceeded to ask if it was the same situation with the shutdown. She said “ No, we were reversing fees for all government employees. We could have done that.” I’m just closing my accounts. We can’t keep our money somewhere where we don’t feel valued. Were we being discriminated against as the only government employees that weren’t allowed a courtesy? I guess that’s something to look into. Edit: They want me to call them after the hours I spent on the phone with them for them to tell me “they can’t help.” If they “wanted” to help. They should have instead of telling me there’s nothing they can do. There were no fees associated with that particular hold, but $100s of dollars were charged in fees for the hardship they caused.
Response from the ownerHI Kaitlyn, We understand your frustration and apologize. We’d like to help. Please call us directly at 877-833-9973.

Levi Kramme5As far as the customer service goes at this branch I've had nothing but a very professional experience as well as friendly which has not been the case with some other neighboring branch locations. Kaitlyn (I hope that's how she spells it) has been great as well as Andrew whether that be when I have come to the branch or called on the phone, they both handle my requests quickly and efficiently. I might add that I've only recently started to come here because of another locations shortcomings and this has been during the pandemic so I've never actually been in they're lobby, so to have this good of service during these hard times we're facing in Michigan and never set foot inside has been a reassurance. So thank you too you two and keep up the good work!!

elisha Smith3Usually I have a wonderful experience at here and that is why I have been with them going on 4 years now. I had an incident with my account and went in to talk about it and the teller was very argumentative and instead of saying that she can not deal with this type of error she insisted that theres nothing that can be done and then offers for me to speak with someone else that is the banker. And when I went up to the counter to begin with her face is strict and its like she is ready to have an argument with someone. That is sad. Because everyone else looks very friendly and happy to help and to point you in the right direction. I won't say her name but she could of definitely came about the situation differently. I got so upset that I left and could not hold myself together to wait to speak with someone about my account.

Kaitlyn Smyth2Everyone was super friendly but I asked the teller if I’d still be able to use the cardless app at the ATM even though I had a replacement coming in the mail and he said, “yeah, that’s no problem.” Well it’s a problem and I can’t. It put me in a really bad spot tonight.
