  I love Empire Loan of Stoughton! The employees are always very friendly & super helpful as much as they can capably be dealing in a business involved w/ dealing w/such a large variety of different items that hold value from precious metals to jewelry & watches, power tools & equipment, electronics & even some appliances, designer hand bags & sunglasses, coins/bullion/currency, celebrity-endorsed & autographed sports memorabilia-all authenticated & verified, musical instruments, art, & more. They always give high fair value on your items when selling & looking to get a loan. They've even started a new automated texting system for loan reminders for upcoming payments due, helping you to always be aware of your loan due date so you never miss picking it up/renewing it, whereas elsewhere using older communication devices due & overdue loans can easily be overlooked/missed leading to customers coming in looking to pick up their items, especially jewelry, or looking to renew their loan, only to find that the due date was missed & their jewelry has been sent out with the last lot of unpaid pawn jewelry to be melted down for scrap value or use for shop's jewelry repair service. I've been a customer of theirs for, I believe, the last 5-maybe even up to 7 years. Coming from being a long time customer of Ideal Jewelry & Loan in the center of Brockton for 10+ years, I randomly decided to give Empire Loan a shot, stopping in just to find out what they would give me for a loan on some jewelry pieces I had pawned, off & on, many times at Ideal for many years, (even asking for increases on those loan amounts a few times over the years for both market fluctuation reasons, + just because trust had been built during the long term business relationship-or so I assumed). I was shocked to find their loan value offer was considerably higher than Ideal, & even a few other lenders family members had always used prior such as Del Greco's in Weymouth. Therefore, I spread the word to my mother & a few other fam members. My mother quickly switched over to them as well. She, too, has also been a loyal fan since that same time as well!

  I can’t speak for the owner but the new age hipster that offered me $80 on $520 “retail” worth of used once Dewalt Brushless 20v max tools with 2 5Amp batteries, charger and bag was very rude. When I told him how much more the Worcester store would give me he replied “Well then take it to Worcester”. He even looked up and old 2 tool sale I did at Worcester store and saw that they gave me $80. Those were old and used and worth far less! Never going back except to get my stuff back! These guys feed on the needy. The 1 star is for the fact that I had enough gas money to get through the work day!

  We're sorry you were disappointed with what we were able to offer you for your tools. We appraise items like yours based on condition and by looking up their secondhand selling price on eBay and offer around 20% of that for a loan. It is not based on what they may sell for new at retail. Because new models come out all the time, what we are able to offer day to day changes regularly. Unfortunately we can't guarantee to offer the same amount on items over time.

  Terrible experience, wasted my time over a hour on a $16,000 Rolex I never wore, offers me 7k, then asks if he can scratch the watch, and then says he can’t buy it. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS PLACE!!!

  We're sorry you were not happy with your visit. With Rolex and other high end watches we take extra precautions to avoid the many counterfeits on the market. The purpose of a scratch test is to authenticate the gold. In the end, we offer a percentage of what they are actually selling for on the secondhand market, not what they may retail for. To be able to get close to what you paid for the watch you would likely have to sell it privately. Again, we're sorry we weren't able to assist you.
