      Discovery Federal Credit Union has been a blessing to me. I have been with them for years! I am never changing my bank. I’ll hold onto more than one bank but I am not leaving this one. They gave so many people I know opportunities. The tellers remember your name. It’s just so personable. I rarely have any issues and when I do it’s fixed immediately.

      After 13 years 8 months of having a credit card through Discovery FCU, I called to have a new card sent due to it being stolen. Instead of doing this, they accidentally closed my account. I called back to express that this was not what was asked for but they said that there was nothing they could do about it having already closed it. Please note, this occurred in March 2020. Why am I writing a review now? This error Continues to effect me as it was the longest running account I had. My credit score & the history of credit took a massive hit. If it was just an accident that was a once and done oops, I’d have more understanding but the nature of this mistake was major.

      I'd give them a 5 Star ++ rating! Other banks are very difficult to work with compared to them. I needed a home equity loan and other banks were difficult and wouldn't work with me. I contacted Discovery, was approved and closed in less than 2 weeks! Gretchen was great with excellent communication and very efficient! Don't go look anywhere else!

      I have been a member for years and never had a problem, until this week. I was notified by the fraud department that there were a number of questionable charges on my account. All charges were in fact fraud. My card was closed and I was told to contact the credit union directly to have a new card issued and to dispute the charges. Upon doing so, I have never felt so under valued as a customer. Since the charges were pending, I had to wait for them to post to my account, at which time I was told paperwork would be emailed to me to dispute the charges. I checked my account today and see everything posted so I called back, only to be told I have to contact the merchant and request a refund. I am a victim in this and I now have to set time aside to call a merchant (that has no phone # or customer care info) and request a refund to get my own money back. This is beyond acceptable.

      The staff has always tried us nice. Taken out loans over the years and a refi. They have been easy to deal with. Note: The fraud prevention can be a pain, but it has been well worth it. Saved me from overseas attacks/hacks, these feature is worth it's weight in gold. The down side, no access to the Debit card for a two weeks. This is an area for improvement :)

      I would not recommend. I am in the process of applying to a mortgage loan (with another place) so I needed my most recent bank statement to do my paperwork. I misplaced the one I got in the mail so I needed to get another one from DFCU. I went there, apparently if you need a statement printed out, it is going to cost you $5.... for a piece of paper! Absolutely ridiculous! When my CD expires, I'm leaving! My sister also went here, she was being charged $10 (I think it was $10) for over a year for not having any activity with her account. She was never notified that if you don't have any activity with your account they are going to charge you (Something that they started after we were members). That happened to me as well. They took hundreds of dollars from my sister, fortunately, they waived some of it back to her, but still never would I recommend. Nice people, but there are other places with nice people and but better management!

E-statements at the credit union are free and you can easily locate, view and printout your previous statements easily through e-statements, accessible through Discovery FCU Online Banking. Unfortunately, we do have a fee for printing paper statements at our branch due to processing time and charges incurred by the credit union to download your statement from our statement processing vendor and print each page of your statement. Many convenient services are offered to our members at no cost to them. Your sister, and all of our members, can quickly and easily avoid any type of account inactivity fee by simply making one small account transaction every six months to your account. This can be at more than 55,000 surcharge-free ATMs worldwide, by making a simple deposit, mobile check deposit or a withdrawal from their account.       I'm not even a member for a year yet and have had issues every time dealing with them. More problems getting a simple loan than I should have had. Also no directions on how to make the process work or how to accommodate my needs. Just a "I’m sorry, I don't know how to help". Very disappointed. People say Credit Unions are better than your regular bank, I very much do not agree.

      This place used to be very friendly and easy to deal with. Now staff is ridged and stand-off ish. More problems getting a very very simple loan than I should have had. And absolutely no directions on how to make the process work. Just a shoulder shrug and I’m sorry. Been a member here for over 10 years and feel like a total stranger now, extremely disappointed. I’m sure there are other places out there that would love to make money off me, I’m just going to take my business there I guess. Thanks for nothing to my “family friendly “ credit union. What a joke

      Refinanced autos and other business,and what a wonderful experience. Robin was AWESOME professional from beginning to end.Tried other banks wanting to invest and couldn't even talk to a PERSON.Very friendly,and prompt and professional. Cant reccomend enough!
