  I've known Derek for many years nows. From the time when I first became a Real Estate Investor. His advise and knowledge on how to proceed during my recent rental refinance was invaluable. From loan application to loan closing, he let me know what he needed from me, to get the thing done. He would, Text, Email, or Phone me back within a short time to answer any questions I might have. He even phoned me after business hours with important information. Derek is competently professional, but more important than that, he cares. Which was apparent in the excellent service he gave me while obtaining the loan and that makes all the difference. Additionally, Derrick is very likable and personable and has always greeted me with a smile.

  If you are looking for someone who loves what they do, is honest, extremely knowledgeable, detailed, listens to your concerns, and finds solutions. Derek Smart is your guy. I have worked with other loan officers and none of them compare to his level of professionalism and care for his client. As a bonus, he is also a real estate investor which adds to his knowledge. I can't say enough great things about Derek I was extremely impressed. He was easy to work with. Any question I had he knew the answer or would find it and get back to me. When asked he took the time to explain the numbers. Which I really appriciated. I would definitely work with him again and I recommend him to anyone. You won't regret it.

  Derek was my loan officer when I bought my first house a year ago. He took the time to explain everything to me so I knew what I was signing and why all the numbers broke down the way they did. He always let me know my options and he would give me his advice when I asked for it. I went back to Derek when I wanted to refinance this year and it was the easiest process. I'd work with him again in a second.
