Connexus Credit Union Reviews

Desi Berthiaume1We received the worst customer service at Connexus Credit Union. The staff member we dealt with was very unprofessional and just flat out rude. Ultimately, we decided to close our accounts and take our business elsewhere because of this. With a plethora of banking options out there, why waste time having to deal with rude, snotty staff members. There’s a reason their branches are closing left and right.

sure stop2Was in today Brooklyn Center branch to cash out 2 $5000.00 Certificates of Deposit, no Share Certificate Maturity Notice was sent to me. Said no I had already cashed them, check had been mailed. Not true. After about 30 minutes and lots of phone calling, supervisor checking they did discover I did have two CDs to cash out, I requested cash, Choua Xiong member Service Supervisor (said she was the branch manager) said no only half because they were saving the cash for other member that MIGHT come for cash . . . really . . . but would give me 1/2 cash, 1/2 in Connexus check. My advise DO NOT PUT YOUR MONEY INTO THIS CREDIT UNION, turn and walk away as fast as you can . . . no run away. They closed two branches I do, now, know why. Don't put your money in CONNEXUS they only give you half back kinda like a halfaxx credit union.

Doug Dorpat3One of the best credit unions in the US. The people are very knowledgeable and helpful. It has some of best interest rates around along with some great programs and offers. I have been a member 42 years. Highly recommended!
Response from the ownerThank you for the recommendation Doug! We are so happy to have you part of the Connexus family!

Brandi Leder1I originally joined the credit union Endura Financial but then they were sold to Connexus. I enjoyed everything about Endura and had no complaints. When it switched to Connexus the online banking changed to their system and was completely unusable for my means. This was back in 2015 so maybe it's changed, but you couldn't pay directly from your bank account or have online transfers from other accounts and that's all I was using it for. So I just kind of stopped using my account because their physical offices are difficult to access and the online banking was unusable. Which brings us to today. I've always kept Connexus on the back burner thinking that I should set up a savings account for my daughter with them because they have good interest rates. But when I went to log in, my password didn't work. So I called them and they told me my account was closed and that there was no balance (just like the other reviewer said). There wasn't much in the account, maybe $80, but obviously still enough to want to retrieve. I asked her if there was anything she could do. She put me on hold and when she came back she said that the account had been drained from fees. There were no fees on my account when I had left it and asked her what she meant. She said that due to inactivity fees were being enforced. I was getting electronic statements but didn't open them because I wasn't using the account and would have supposedly seen the fees. A better practice for Connexus would be to reach out to their customers with inactive accounts and let them know what was happening. But nope, money is just gone because I guess I'm too stupid. And unlike the other reviewer they did not offer to give me my money back.

Nyunomai Harris1Very unpleasant experience with a banker when attempting to open up a minor savings account. She repeatedly asked me what kind of an account I was opening, after the fifth time I asked her if she was even listening for the answer she was asking. I was returning from the day before as she had stated I needed a birth certificate in order to open the minor savings account. She repeated twice it had been a long day and she was unable to remember what we discussed the day before I told that it was fine since we did not discuss much. I reminded her that she asked for my daughter’s birth certificate and I was returning to complete the opening of a minors savings account. Her reply was she needed to check and see about something that she heard of in a morning meeting. I said thank you but I’m no longer comfortable with banking here I will take my business elsewhere. Not a pleasant experience at all. I hope that a training can be implemented with this banker in order to prevent this from happening to another possible customer.

Cece Stewart5I have been with this Credit Union for more then 15 years. When I worked for Honeywell it was called the Honeywell Federal Credit Union. The name has changed now 3 times but still happy to do business with them.

Google User1I had a small auto loan roughly 10 years ago and paid it off after 4 or 5 I lost my lien release and when i called and left 2 messages over 2 weeks ago I never heard back. Customer service is very poor. Happy I closed my savings account.👎

Phillip Bouthilet1We received a loan that did not match the terms explained to us and ended up being borderline predatory. Customer service was always defensive and condescending when complaints were made. We also had documentation that did not match what they claimed they had, and when further complaints were made papers we had never seen appeared out of nowhere. Would not recommend based on service alone.

Brad Pietrzak5This place is amazing I have no idea what that one star review was that is rediculas. Better then any mainstream bank you will ever go to I mean for Pete's sake they offer a checking account that gives you like 1.5 percent interest how are you going to beat that at a big for profit bank. Credit unions are owned by there employees and are for your interests first before any profits unlock the big banksters check the place out everyone there is very kind they offer great things and low terms. You really can't go wrong if your looking for a place in Brooklyn center
