Megan G1Save your self go a few blocks down and go to UMB, Worst bank ever I dealt with I have been with Umb for 15 years never had an issue. Had a Service done We were over charged. So we got the overpay given back in a check We than went into the bank and told us we couldn't cash it because we didn't have an account that's all they wanted was for us to open an account. When I called ahead to make sure. Everyime you talk to someone from Commerce bank ALL DIFFERENT ANSWERS.

Kevin Carlyle1I closed my account in March. They still did an ACH transfer more than two months I couldn't cancel, because the account was closed. I had called the bank and they had no record of the transfer, again because the account is closed. Their tech side is so archaic as well, it takes them a week to apply a loan payment from their account to their account internal to the bank.

Dan None1The worst customer service I have ever experienced. Unreasonable, obstructive, unethical. * Asked us to have our mother (dying of terminal brain cancer) to stop by and sign paperwork as she was being transferred from a hospital to a skilled care facility because they refused to accept a legally valid and binding Power of Attorney (see below) * Charged $5/month 'dormant account' fee on a savings account for a customer with over $250k in other accounts * Would not accept a Power of Attorney written by a lawyer in the same town. It cost us over $100 to have the lawyer contact Commerce to get the PoA accepted (not a problem at any other bank in town) * Would not accept savings bonds to be redeemed without a 'special' Power of Attorney (another local bank had no issue) * Claimed not to know of IRA accounts, until we presented their own statements indicating their existence * Local branches won't process IRA closures (due to mother passing) and say corporate department must do it. Corporate says that local branch has to do it. * Speaking of IRAs, allowed my mother to draw down my late father's IRA for almost 8 years after his passing.

J J1Stay away from Commerce Bank. This is the worst bank I have ever dealt with in my life. First I drove to a branch the branches closed go to the ATM to withdraw money and the ATM seems to not function, it said "temporally closed" went to another one same thing... come to find out they close their ATMs in the evening. The next day I go back to another branch, guess what? The branch is shutdown, I thought I could just use the ATM, guess what again the ATM won't give me the amount I need to pay a client. Two days of running around just to get my money out of my account and I still have not done so. This is NOT how a bank is supposed to operate in 2021. Please stay the away from Commerce Bank and affiliates.
