Centris Federal Credit Union Reviews

idalia gonzalez1Teller in the front wouldn’t get a an employee from the titles department. She said they all leave at 4 or 4:30. Last time I went they told me the staff from the titles department left at 5 and they still called and got someone to help. So if they leave earlier they should change the hours. It’s very inconvenient for someone who works or has to pick up kids from school. And then she went on saying I didn’t need to get the paper notarized. When they told me I had to. And said that anyways it wasn’t valid because the co-signer didn’t sign both names. It literally says signature and that’s their signature.

Kayla Miles1Never trust your money with this bank!!! S/o was just screwed out of thousands because they mistook him for another family member and marked him as deceased, and froze his account! Now his money from the IRS and tax returns couldn't process and disappeared when it was hard enough to get his stimulus in the first place. Which all could have been easily avoided if they just paid attention and did their job right! Now they 'can't do anything' and we are out of luck, do not trust them! They had zero sympathy handling the situation and couldn't even compensate for the mistake.

Carl Harms2Good start, terrible execution (my customer service experience has been terrible). I financed my home loan through Centris. At the time 5+ years ago the process was great. The people at Centris were good to work with, explained the processes, etc. They were also up-front that the loan would probably be sold. However, I have been trying to get PMI removed from my account, and Centris has absolutely failed me. They sent multiple conflicting forms to me which had different instructions on how to pay for an appraisal update, they received my appraisal payment but didn't complete an appraisal (later refunded), and then they essentially lost my PMI cancellation request, all while continuing to charge me for PMI every month. Calls to customer service have been useless; the people I speak to won't listen to the specifics of my situation, they just tell me to restart the PMI removal process. Emails to their customer feedback system have had no response. I wrote a lengthy letter detailing my grievance. Centris sent a letter two months ago saying that they needed another two weeks to respond. No response since then, but I continue to be charged for PMI. So having exhausted most of the normal courses for dealing with a customer service issue, here I am posting to Google with the hope that Centris might see my complaint and actually respond to me in a meaningful way. I have no idea if this failure in customer service is the fault of Centris or their mortgage servicer that they sold the loan to. What I do know is that all of the correspondence I receive has Centris' name and branding on it.

Kellie Armstrong2Centris has always been extremely helpful. Never had any issues. ---- As I wrote this review that was going to be 5 Stars, I called into get a replacement card. They told me they would charge me $5 for a new card which is a ridiculous fee for someone who has never had to get a new card from them before. So I decided to edit my review

Hysteri Kelli1Out dates systems.... Even their employees have no idea how to use their own site (that's new and supposed to allow you to pay online). I've been told for 4 months I can make our loan payments online. For 4 months I've been trying to get it set up to pay with my WF account. I was assured over and over again I can do this. Today, I'm finally told I need. Centris checking and I can pay out of THAT. After being transferred 4 times today I was dumped into someone's voicemail. I can't wait to be done with my loan. I'll never entertain using their services ever again!

Gabe Butolph1I have banked here since I was a kid, I've never had any issues with fraud of any kind and then when I do im told I'll be fine and I'll have a temporary credit that will be permanent eventually. Ok sounds good, that makes sense, so when you budget and regardless of the amount they then say it'll take 5 days for us "your" own bank to initiate a temporary credit. Boy that makes sense. And it really puts you in a bad situation. Based on the fact that they say we care about our customers customer owned they care about themselves and that's it. I will be closing my accounts here and going elsewhere for any future needs.

J J3Used to love this credit union. Have had them for 4-5 years. Have had loans, credit cards, etc. Earlier this year I applied for a debt consolidation loan and the amount and % they came back was horrible. I declined. Then recently I applied for a house mortgage loan. My credit score IS good enough for this and they told me if I got my score up another 30 points, they might approve me for a 100k loan with a high interest rate. Which again is ridiculous. I ran my numbers through a different lender/mortgage company and they had no problem pre-approving me on the spot for the 200k I was looking for with a very low rate. Now we are looking for our forever home. Their loss I guess. Will continue to use them as a primary bank because they have been pretty good but as far as loans, I won’t even attempt it anymore.

Sarah Kuntz1I loved centris at first. However, when I had something being taken out of my account that I had cancelled with the company multiple times i called their account services and the lady on the phone recommended i go in and close my accounts and open new ones. So i tried to do that and they told me i cant because i have a loan thats attached to my account which i dont understand because they could just attach the loan to my new accounts. They said that is not possible. So, once my loan is paid off i will be leaving their bank and going somewhere else. Meanwhile i am stuck dealing with a company that obviously doesn't know what canceled means because I have canceled it twice now and I am still being charged.

Nebbaseball21I have been banking with Centris for 10 years now. I started off simply getting a checking/savings account. After about a month, I got their $500 loan which wasnt bad. After i did that, I got their credit line in which I’ve had ever since. I really really liked this bank. But for the last 2 years, their service has declined as a bank. They tout out these awards they’ve won each year for being such a great bank. Yet, when you’re banking with them, they suck hardcore. They’re becoming almost as bad as Wells Fargo. I have a car loan thru them and I’ve gotten behind a few times(which is my fault) they put a hold on your savings account and when you catch up on your loan, they remove the hold. Well recently, I got behind again and they put a lien on my account. I caught myself up 2 weeks later (2/23/18) after they put the lien on my account(savings 2/9/18). Well it’s 3/17/18 and they still have a lien on my account on “permanent hold” I thought they removed the lien which they always do when I catch myself up. But yesterday(3/16/18) I transferred money into my saving to set aside. Well come to find out, they never removed the hold. I called to their customer service and they’re saying, “I see you have a hold on your account, but we have no one in our financial department to see what’s going on. So you’re out X amount of dollars until Monday.” So basically, because they have failed to remove the lien on my account after nearly a month of being caught up, I am out X amount of dollars because they failed to do their job. I’m pretty much fed up with this bank and am thinking about switching banks for good. I’m sad about saying that because I’ve been with them for so long and they were actually a good bank at one time. But i think it’s time to find someone who won’t F me over for not doing their job

Zaina W1I have been with Centris for over a year and came in to replace my lost card and they wanted to charge me $5! I said no way and the teller said most banks charge more, which is baloney! I have never paid for a lost bank card in all the years that I have had a bank account. I told the teller, "I would rather close my account than to pay the $5." She replied, "How would you like your bills!?" I was shocked at how easliy they were willing to close my account. They sure don't go out of their way to try and keep or evn please their customers. Long story short, I closed my account and will never suggest to anyone to bank with Centris!
