Capital One Bank Reviews

Shawn Latta2This branch is permanently closed yet capital one has not updated Google to reflect that. Have some respect for your customers an update your status to permanently closed so that we don’t have to waste gas and time driving to your brick and mortar locations.
Response from the ownerThanks for bringing this to our attention, Shawn. We've gone ahead and forwarded this to our devs for review. ^JM

Jenna Bourgeois1Their back end system is processing the wrong bank account numbers for customer payments. I advised their fraud team of this, but they refuse to correct it or acknowledge the errors. I have the physical evidence to prove it, but they refuse to look at it.

Jason Adams2The customer service at this location is terrible. They were sarcastic when asked a question about deposits. I prefer the customer service people at the Lakeline location. They are very professional.

Marcus3I have NOT been to this Capital One location. However, based on Justin W, and Mahesh Prabhu's posted reviews I chose to deposit my check somewhere else. As a matter of fact, I've have a Capital One bank account and have so for many years. This morning I received a HUGE check from the sale of a property and I mean huge. I choose to go elsewhere. What good is having your money in a bank if you're going to have limited access to it. Your loss Capital One. Since I didn't go there I really didn't know how to fairly review it. For arguments sake and in fairness, I gave it 3 stars.

Sandra Everett3Update: If you don't need any customer service, I like Capitol One more now. They make it easy to manage account online and pay decent interest rates on money market accounts. I'm happier now than I was at the beginning. I wanted to like Capital One's plan to disrupt the banking industry. I wanted to like a no minimum and no fees checking account. The problem is, you don't have any banking support and the ATM in Wm Cannon location has issues constantly by not being able to recognize checks or the wrong value. Online, the bill pay interface looks like something a programmer in high school code class wrote. I'm currently on hold during banking hours just to try to connect with a human to ask why a capital one check cannot be deposited into a capital one checking account at a capital one ATM.

Keeping it Real1Last time I went to a Capital One bank, I easily deposited my check into my savings by just handing them my ID and check. Now, they said I couldn't do that because my debit card wasn't linked to my savings, and they just point to the machine. I tried depositing my check into my checking through the machine, and it gave no conformation that it went through and didn't print a receipt when I asked for it. This is coming from a Computer Science major. Make a bank with real people that aren't brain dead instead of machines, because machines can't correct mistakes like when my friend got $20 stolen because the machine didn't count it right.
Response from the ownerYep, we put the power of banking in your own hands. No waiting in line for a teller. You can even use the mobile app to make a check deposit from the comforts of home. Thanks. ^AB

Jason Peine1They used to be so good. I'm about to fire them and look at credit unions. Their app used to work perfectly. I used to know my banker by name and he knew mine. They've slipped a great deal from when I first became a customer some 4 years ago. Edited to lower yet another star. Their new branch manager is horrible. They threatened to paralyze my company because of mistakes made by two of their employees on my accounts. Done with them as soon as I can move my money out of there. You should look at them like any other big bank at this point. Edited again: Now the manager has claimed slander since I gave them a negative review here. Can you believe it? Slander. For giving my honest opinion on extremely poor service from a bank I used to champion. Stay far far away from this branch. You have been warned.
Response from the ownerHey Jason. We try to give every one of our customers a personal experience every time they call, chat, or visit us in person. It would appear that we may have missed an opportunity to show you that. Rest assured that this feedback is being reviewed by our branch leadership team on your behalf. Thanks for reaching out.

Mikiko Harlow1It’s bad enough that they did away with tellers completely, but why take away literally all but ONE ATM for drive-up banking, when there is all the unused space that could house several more drive up ATMs. Half the time the one the have is “currently unavailable for cash deposits”, and today the one inside was also closed. Ridiculously inconvenient.
Response from the ownerHey Mikiko - We hear you frustration and want you to know this review won't go by the wayside. We've doc'd this for our leadership to ensure your feedback gets in front of the right eyes. ^AJS

David Johns1I'm trying to cash a 'cash advance' check from my employer. I travel this week. After reading the reviews here, I became concerned that I may have trouble cashing my check at this location. I tried calling. No one answered. I've banked with Capital One for many years. One of the reasons I make Capital One my primary bank was the full service brick-and-mortar banks in the Austin area. The branch I used to go to near Far West has been shut down. Now this branch also looks like it's just an ATM - and from other descriptions, with incompetent, un-empowered employees who tell you how to run an ATM...??? I'm considering pulling out of Capital One entirely... all my savings accounts and my two checking accounts, and my kid's CDs. The new format of the website is terrible - it used to work, and it was intuitive. Not anymore. What is going on with Capital One?
Response from the ownerHi David—we appreciate you taking the time to communicate your experience. We recognize that each person banks differently and we're eager to help you do just that. Please consider visiting one of our Austin locales to chat with a branch ambassador about how our ever-evolving services and features could still fit your banking preferences. ^MS

Ralph Tyndall1This bank is useless. You can't even come here to do simple tasks such as picking up a new debit card. This place is a glorified ATM. I wish Capital One would stop turning all the banks in Austin into coffee shops. I'm definitely considering leaving Capital One entirely.
