  I've had nothing but excellent experience with BrightStar Credit Union. I'm financing a car, again, with BSCU. I spoke with Zuni at the credit union to discuss my options and move forward with the financing. Zuni took her time with me and explained everything. She even called me back after I retrieved some information that she needed. Zuni couldn't have been more helpful! I HIGHLY recommend BSCU for ALL banking needs. They're the only one I use for mine!

  I contacted BSCU due to an issue on my account. I spoke with Rasheda and she was very understanding and assisted me to the best of her capabilities. She also provided some information about the current promotions that are available to me. Thank you Rasheda

  I have been with Bright Star Credit Union for many years. Cons: customer service, overdraft fees, locations, hours of operation. Pros: my money is protected. I have not had any issues with fraud since I have been with Bright Star and my checking and saving account are free. That is what is most important to me. I agree with many that the Hollywood branch isn't the best but it is the only branch in Hollywood. One problem that I've had in the past is with overdraft fees. I noticed that when multiple charges are pending on the account, the checking account will show that there are enough funds to cover all of the transactions. Once the charges have been processed, that is when the checking account will really reflect the actual balance--showing that there wasn't sufficient funds to cover all of the pending transactions. At that point, an overdraft fee incurs on the account. More overdraft fees will subsequently incur as resulting pending transactions are processed with or without you knowing. I think that should be fixed. As a result, I have tried to keep over a certain amount in my checking account and I use two separate cards to keep track of the pending charges and my balance. Aside from the fact that customer service usually sucks due to poor training and low regard for customers and the overdraft system is a ripoff because it doesn't truly reflect if you have enough money to pay everything off before you get charged over draft fees, and sometimes the system does not work properly, my money is always protected. I have never had issues with fishy activity on my account or unexpected charges with the bank. I do not receive unsolicited calls by them and I am glad I am not with some big institution that only cares about spending my money, not protecting it. Five star service would be nice but to be honest, banking with a company that is honest with me and protects my money is what matters most to me as a customer.

  A telephone call to the BrightStar call center, although for a business concern, always ends up bringing a wide smile to my face: it feels like I have just visited with a good friend, or a buddy in the neighborhood. BrightStar Credit Union does maintain, at least in its call center, that small town feeling of camaraderie.

  Karen was such a sweet heart. She definitely took the time to ensure I got enrolled and my account got set up correctly. Such a great start with a new bank! thank you!

  Customer service wasn't sincere. The woman seem like she didn't want to help me, counted my cash Very rapidly (too fast for anyone to be sure the correct amount is there. Then she gave me a good day and just walked off without giving me my id or receipt. As I was waking away I hear her snap on the next customer for approaching her station when she wasn't ready. This was in Thursday around 1:00pn. I guess the woman really wanted to go to lunch or something. Every other credit union I've been to has been great, friendly staff, and sincere . Not knocking the company at all!

  Kayla was such a pleasant individual to speak with. I called in ranting and raving about my Credit Card being closed without any knowledge and she informed me of the process unlike the last individuals. Kayla has great Customer Service skills and is very deserving of a raise. Please refer to Kayla as Mz Thang 11😁

  The representative that helped me set up my online A/C was wonderful. She was so patient as I was experiencing internet problems. She stuck with me until my A/C was up and working. Thank you so much for a very pleasant experience.

  BSCU has been redeemed! Thanks to the customer service agent Jasmine who recently assisted me. For years I let my accounts sit dormant with just $1 in the account because BSCU did not assist me in recovering my $$$$ that was stolen from my account through Identity Theft! They told me that once the theft was past 60 days they could not assist me! Really! I put my money in your SECURED banking system, someone stole my money and BSCU turned their back and basically said "oh well, too late, can't help"... Recently I had to call customer service for assistance and was connected to Jasmine who was so very helpful, professional and courteous. I only wish she could have helped me recover my money....
