  We recently went into the Portage blue ox office on Center Street to resolve an issue that had not been able to be completed via phone or email. Anticipated that we would need a branch manager to resolve our issue but we were met by Shannon Kelly at the window. She was very delightful and engaging in conversation and offered to assist us. She determined that this was an issue that she could take care of with a little bit of effort. In short order we were able to complete our transactions and left with a very positive attitude towards the credit union. Shannon exemplified top quality customer service and exemplified the fact that she wanted to help and cared for resolving our issue. She gets an A+ in our book.

  Maybe credit unions just aren't for me, but basically everything about them is inconvenient. The online banking site is glitchy and down quit often. I can't access any of my own information, like full account numbers for my loans. Unless you have a checking account with them to transfer money between your checking and loan accounts, you have to jump through hoops to transfer money from any other institution to pay your monthly bills. Forget using your debit card to pay for anything. In my 10 years of paying loans, I have never paid a loan late until I started banking here. Lastly, don't bank here if you are someone who has ever had to live paycheck-to-paycheck. The ridiculous overdraft fees will bankrupt you. I thought credit unions were supposed to be less greedy than large national banks. If that were the case, why would I bank somewhere that won't even offer me the decency or grace to pay back my $1-$3 overdrafts within a couple days before slapping me with hundreds of dollars worth of overdraft fees? I'm over it.

  I have been a member of this credit union since before it was Blue Ox, almost 20 years. They are always helpful and friendly. I have had credit cards, loans and now my mortgage though them and the staff are patient with questions though the process. I would highly recommend.

  On March 24th I was informed that my debit card had been compromised. Kate handled this for me immediately over the phone due to us being stuck in Florida. The next day I was contacted again with quotes on two existing loans and by transferring we could save money, enter Corrine. The outstanding customer service that we received is truly refreshing. I was seriously considering leaving Blue Ox in Battle Creek due to their lack of Customer Service. Great job ladies.!!With our deepest appreciation, Mike & Marcia Kane. PS, please forward to Corrine

  I am completely disgusted with this companies unprofessional interview process. The manager at this location named Mike interviewed my mother and set up the date and time of the interview. He called two minutes before the interview was supposed to start and stated he would be a “few” mins late however he ended up showing up 45 mins late. He then thought it was “professional” to interview at Biggby coffee rather than at the branch itself which is VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. He also was dressed super unprofessional as well which is appalling for someone working at a branch. With working for a bank for several years this is super unprofessional and disgusting behavior. I personally will never recommend anyone to apply for job positions or to do business with this company because if your interview process is this unprofessional I can only imagine how unprofessional your business practices must be. Do better! I 10/10 do not recommend doing your business here!
