Horrible credit union. I wouldn’t suggest banking here if it were the only credit union on the planet! You would be better off putting your money in a coffee can. They have went down hill in the past 3 years. Do not bank here if you know what is good for you. The front staff however is super nice although there is a lot of turnover. It seems that all the good employees are leaving for other employments. I think that a re-evaluation of your “higher ups” need to be looked at because as a CU member for over 15 years, the turn over is huge compared to my other credit union.

So far I'm NOT impressed. Poor service on the phone. Poor support for us transitioning from the merger. I still cannot access our account on line after two phone calls. The account number and password I was given doesn't work and there was no support available after that time! We received new debit cards with instructions to immediately authorize them and destroy the old ones. The problem was that the new cards were not truely active for several days, a point not made in the letter that came with new cards. I'm kinda fed up.

I've banked here for 15 years. Never have I seen a business allow the managers to work from home and get paid but yet the staff has to show up. I know a handful of workers that are about to quit. I honestly don't blame any of them. That's so unprofessional for managers to work from home but other employees can't .if employees are required than managers should be required.

      Response from the owner

Hello Travis - Thank you for reaching out. The well-being and safety of our members, employees and communities are our highest priorities, and are at the heart of every decision we have made during this challenging time. Due to the Governor’s stay-at-home order, it was required that anyone who could work from home was doing so. Please be assured that any BlueOx employee mandated to work from home, is hard at work serving our members and their team.

The stupid runs deep with Blue Ox. Even their managers don't understand the word "customer service" My Mom broke her leg so I'm doing all her banking. I go to the counter with her, ATM card with pin #, password on the account, Laminated account # from the bank for deposits, We have a joint saving account, I'm the beneficiary on her account. Everything one would think they need to deposit a check and withdraw $300.00 in $1 , $5 , $10 , $20 (That way she would have the correct change for the wheel chair van to and from doctors, and if she ordered pizza exc). I explain to the teller I would like to deposit the check in to my mom's saving account and withdraw the $300.00. She responded with, I'll do it just don't tell me it's your mom's account. I don't like deceiving people so I asked her if I brought in a copy of power of attorney for them to keep on file if that would help them out. At that point her demeanor changed and I never got an answer to my question. She had already deposited the check in to my moms saving and wouldn't let me withdraw any money. Now keep in mind all the information I had on hand. I tried to have a human conversation with her but all her answers were no. So I asked for a manager. The Brach manger came to the counter and I asked her to explain to me why with all this information I had why I couldn't withdraw any money. She told me my name wasn't on her account. Keep this in mind. She said if my mom called ahead or sent me with a note they could do it. (Wow how would they check ID on her note, was my females friends voice close enough to my moms?) So my next question was why don't they just deposit the check in to my savings and transfer the balance in to my mom's saving, my mom sign off the check. That didn't work for her because that would make it a 2 party check. I didn't understand this because HER NAME IS ON MY ACCOUNT. The same reason I could withdraw from her account. She said "it was to protect my mom's money" This is always the biggest Lie. So at this point I was frustrated beyond belief. So I drove out to the ATM, were you CAN'T deposit checks. Which I wouldn't even have to deal with the stupid at the counter. Withdrew the $300.00. I when back inside to get change and stood in line again. When it was my turn I went to a different tell. She asked if I had an account. Looked up my Mom's account and asked for the password (to make change REALLY). With the password I could make change but not with draw any money? This place is poorly managed I highly suggest keeping your fund else were. We'll be changing Credit Unions as soon as my mom can walk.

Banked here for many years, Made small deposits for vacation fund and one of the associates marked my account inactive, they then took money out of my savings for inactivity fees even though it was not. I don't have the time to argue with them. This place sucks.

      Response from the owner

I have banked here for more than thirty years and i have always found the service to be way more personal and helpful than big banks. I think that over the years i have experienced many times when i needed and received assistance from people in this bank and was rewarded with excellent results.

      Response from the owner

Hello Vicky - We’re pleased you had a great member experience. Thank you for your loyalty and your business!

I have never paid so many darn fees in my life. I will be closing my account on Monday. Only reason I opened an account here was because my fiancé had always banked with them. I have kept it because it was easy for me and him to transfer money to each other when we needed to. But now the fees have out weighed anything good about having an account there. Four years ago when I opened the account before it changed to blue ox I had 24 hours to put money in if there was an overdraft. Now I get charged $30 even if it’s overdrafted by one cent. It’s ridiculous!!!!

I hate calling this cu you can hardly ever reach a live person. You get put into people voicemail box which you never receive a call back. Today I have been calling since 9:30 am and the phone will not ring on my end it dead. I had my husband call and my sister because I thought it was my phone but it's not...the stupid line isn't working. There is no customer service 800 line to call after hours like a bank. I will definitely be convincing my mother to move her account to Huntington National bank...You can get after hour help the website is customer friendly where you can figure things out yourself and if you want to send a check from you account to pay a bill it's not a MISSION IMPOSSIBLE! I hate this CU. You get one star because I guess you're open. Who knows?

I love blue ox! Their staff are wonderful. However they updated their phone system, and it SUCKS! I am from coldwater I will dial the number for coldwater and I can possibly get someone in Albion or hillsdale. I don't like dealing with them, people at my bank know me. I prefer dealing with the coldwater people and since it is my money that should be an option. More often then not when I call no one answers. Other then that they are wonderful
