Blue Federal Credit Union - 5th Street Reviews

Jared Holder1Blue is usually a good bank but after ruining the title for my brand new motorcycle I no longer support or recommend them. They messed up my paperwork 9 times after I paid off my loan for a motorcycle with 883 miles on it which was annoying and time consuming but whatever, people make mistakes. What upset me is they wrote the wrong mileage for the title! So I have a motorcycle that’s not even broken in and the title says 39000 miles! I’m upset because I had three buyers for the bike and now I have zero for a ridiculous paperwork error. Blue took zero responsibility and said good luck with that sorry. Did not help at all. Sarah Conover was very helpful and did all she could. When I got to whoever is above her they didn’t care and pushed me off. I don’t recommend.

Kristi Norden5They truly have the best interest rates around, better than any other credit union in Northern Colorado! Their interest rates for deposit accounts like your checking or savings account or CD are the highest. And their interest rates on loans are the lowest. Great customer service. Even their fees (if you get an overdraft fee) is lower than any other credit union around Fort Collins area. You can also do "shared branching" which means you can do your banking with Blue from literally thousands of other credit unions, including Public Service. I don't know why anyone would go anywhere else. Even their minimum deposit amount is lower than any other credit union (a whopping $5). And don't be scared about how to become a member, you'd be surprised, they can pretty much make it work so that you can become a member. It's so easy. ***I will admit, not having phone numbers to get to the branch directly is annoying....But 1st National Bank and pretty much every one is the same way. Wish they would change that though....

Dave Deninger1I was with Community Financial Federal Credit Union.... it was the best Credit Union... Home Town Credit Union... the best service... the really cared. Everyone cared. But they Merged with Warren FCU... and now... no return calls.... the people don't care... when you call.... you get just an automated system... which takes you no where. They say ... it's growing pains... but... I think... they have killed the Home town feeling... and I am just a number now. I've been with CFFCU.... since 1994... I was planning of never leaving. but now I don't know. If I wanted to be with Wells Fargo... or Bank Of America... I would of been there... My credit union.... that really meant something to me.... I really felt like I was apart of something... they took care of me when I was in Afghanistan... and they were like family.... Now I have a credit union... that is like being at the D.M.V. . The life has been sucked out of my credit union...
Response from the ownerHi Dave, thank you for the review. We have worked hard to minimize impact, however, parts of our merger have been difficult for some of members. Our goal is to provide our members with the best economic value possible and share in a cooperative model where all our members benefit. We are still at our same locations in Broomfield and you’ll still see some familiar faces at our branches. We value your membership and feedback, and have shared your comments with our team. Someone will be reaching out to you to follow up.

Kimber1I never leave bad reviews. But, if you are looking for a good FCU for your money, this is NOT IT! I have been with the former Warren FCU for many years. They were great. Blue....not so much. I was having issues with the mobile app not transferring money to my daughter's Blue account. When I called the customer service number, they asked for my phone password. I gave it to them, they said they "couldn't verify me". They asked for my mother's maiden name. I give it. I'm pretty sure of it, I've known it for 46 years! They say it doesn't match their records. Who's records are you looking at then? Now I'm starting to panic. I haven't changed any of my passwords on my accounts....ever. I restate my account number, I restate my password, I restate all of it and they continue to shoot me down. It's Sunday, so I can't just go to the nearest branch. My college age daughter is stranded in Vegas (where she lives) without enough funds, I can't transfer money which is clearly in there and now they're telling me they can't verify me with my password! They told me I'll have to wait until sometime Monday when they will call me back. I keep telling them I haven't changed my password, it's been the same forever and they keep telling me they are "sorry and can't help until Monday". No care or concern that it sounds like someone has hacked my account. I ask to at least speak to IT so I can transfer funds to her. Nope...it's Sunday. Can't help. Guess it's not a priority. The condescending tone in both the "service rep" and her "manager" had in their voice did not aid the situation. Needless to say. I am going to find a different FCU that actually cares about their members. Up until Blue took over I had NEVER had an issue, they were always warm and considerate.I very RARELY had to call them. Now...it's just big business for them. I know taking my accounts from here won't do damage, but I hope that for those who are shopping around, know that these people are no better than a bank. You get the same service. They don't have a clue what it means to be an FCU. I am NOT proud to be a member of this place. So I sit. And I wait, and I pray my daughter can find assistance somewhere else and that nobody empties my account before I can get in there on Monday. Thanks Blue for your concern.
