Kristen Ashley5We rented a condo in Ocean Walk this summer. Better Beach Rentals was amazing to us. We got a welcome bag when we got into the room, the room was super clean. There were a couple of things wrong in the condo, but when we addressed these things with BBR, they handled them in a timely manner. Customer service was excellent. We will absolutely be using this company every year when we come to Oak Island!

Pam Payne1Extremely poor customer service is the first thing; spoiled our G-daughter birthday as she was excused from school pending school work; no internet until afternoon before leaving; Responses were terrible. Could not use air in one bedroom due to MOLD smell. 3 bowls for 4 person stay. Notebook in home had disconnected and erroneous contact information. Conflicting information between homeowner and Company. Couldn't even speak to a manager; was asking for minor concession - AARP or AAA discount due to non-responses and un-useable rooms and internet. Would never recommend - wished we had read the comments' but as mentioned the reservation was even mis-managed. Truly felt that did not care if you were pleased or not -

Cash Rucker1This was our final email to Better Beach Rentals. After a week of staying at one of their properties (and paying $10,000 for the week) and meeting an electrician there 5 days out of 7 because of electric issues at the home. You win. This has been exhausting. An abhorrently bad Customer Service experience. I missed much of my vacation dealing with maintenance and waiting on electricians. Karen was rude to my face and failed to do what she told me she would do. Karen has her facts wrong. Just a convenient and untrue response. No management member (Julie, Kim) has acknowledged my complaints of Karen’s rudeness or failure to contact the owner. Clearly, there is a lack of interest in customer experience and it is acceptable to be argumentative and take a battle approach with guests at BetterBeach.

The reservation process was super easy as their staff was quite professional and easily accessible over the phone. The house looks amazing. My extended family has rented this house so we can all be together to celebrate the first anniversary of the death of our mother July 4, 2020. There is nothing more important than family❤️

Ashley Gilroy1We booked a house for a week long summer rental. I had some questions and used the contact host feature on Air B&B to ask them two weeks before our arrival. When I contacted the company they answered my questions then called me the next day, within days of our arrival on Oak Island, and said the property had been double booked and we would be moved to an alternate house. It was difficult to find a home that met the criteria we were looking for. They found a home and changed our reservation to there. It was not thoroughly cleaned and was FULL OF cockroaches. We loved Oak Island, but would hesitate to use this company again.

Brandi Williams3Very kind and easy to work with. This is our 2nd rental experience with them. Our 1st rental experience went well. I lost my key on the beach but the office staff was able to provide a copy. The 1st rental had an attached apartment that we also used however there was a strong smell of mildew. Unfortunately when you are that close to the ocean some of that is inevitable if cleanings are not completed regularly. Our second 2nd rental needed some additional cleaning when we arrived. There was trash left over outside from previous renters. It felt as if they weren't ready for us. So a few calls later staff came out and did some clean up. Both homes were well stocked, safe, relatively clean and relaxing. I gave 3 stars because of the help I received when I lost my key to the 1st rental but the strong mildew scent and the need for trash clean up caused me to remove a star.

Lucy Funkhouser5We stayed for 2 weeks at a beautiful home right on the beach and our vacation could not have been better. We had some trouble with WIFI but Better Beach Rentals responded quickly and an IT Tech solved the problem. A vacation to remember.

Paula Thach1I have given Better Beach Rental a 5 stars, however after the way they treated us made me revised the review. I am sorry. My family and my friend have been with the company for awhile, we normally booked the beach house at least 3 times a year. So I reserved the Beach Mountain house since last year and put a $56 hold on it and reserved the house for end of August. because I was 1 day late to make the deposit and they automatically cancelled my reservation and gave it to someone else. I've been on the phone with them trying to see if they can at least try to work something out, no! Every time I spoke to someone they put me a long wait and kept on hanging up the phone one me. When I asked to speak to the manager (Karen) she's always busy or on a meeting. They said she will get back to me, but she never did. Well, I guess that's my lost. Next time I will have to be more quicker!

I would also like to say that I did not hang up on you or put you on hold, I spent 30 minutes with you on the phone trying to help you find another property. As far as the day late payment, we did try to get ahold of you numerous times via phone and email but we were not able to establish a connection with you. Once the payment date passes, the system automatically cancels the reservation with no payment attached. We do have you on the waiting list for the property Beach Mountain, just in case the guest who booked it cancels. If you would like to speak more on this matter, I would be more than willing to give you a call back. We can do another property search and put you on their waiting list as well. Emily English4We enjoyed our stay and plan to return next year. Better Beach Rentals was easy to work with and tended to our maintenance requests promptly. We enjoyed the house; it was clean though could use some TLC in the off season. Pool was well kept, and was cleaned mid-week. Overall, it was a positive experience.
