  Been a member since 1995 always bosted not a bank a credit union. These days there just a bank the old ways of caring about members has gone to the waist side . I have accounts at wells fargo as well. I see no difference in my banking experience. I got the wells fargo account in 1996 because of my troubles with atm banking when I traveled with credit union system s always going down. Still till this day my wells fargo account has saved me wen I travel. I also have a buisness account at Atlantic union bank, aside from them having the smallest drive thru there good too. I had a rough last few years with retiring disabled then my wife got cancer then covid. My credit unions help was to lock my revolving credit for over use they did this in November making for a great Christmas. There idear was to offer me a refinance plan using an arm loan. I never missed any payments but I did have to borrow back every month. I went to my other bank I refinanced my home with a conventional loan wife's back to work and I'm getting back on track thanks to my other bank .. I filled out that eval card the credit union sends out on how we rate them I voiced my opinion, funny wen I refyed home I got a check from my mortgage company that I have been auto paying from my account. The credit union put a 7 day hold on it not including weekend making none of it available 9 days total. Now just yesterday I deposited a check from my wells fargo account I deposit a check every month from this account nuthing new this was for 1000 dollars it was put on a five day hold . I can't help but to feel like I'm being singled out. I no what your thinking I should just change all to wells fargo then. Easier said than done I have history here and all my auto pays come from this account and yes I'm lazy. So I just decided I do my banking and keep mind set it's just another bank.. by the way the two stars are for my tellers there's a few of the originals left who are great and personable and remember what a credit union is and means most of the newer ones are like every other bank get them in get them out no personable service.

  This review is on the mortgage department. They were very helpful at first but apparently did not listen. We told them we know nothing about buying a house, nothing about mortgages and needed help deciding. They helped alright, helped themselves to a $450 home inspection fee that was never discussed! I could have hired a certified home inspector for a little over $300 to do the same work and give them a report if I knew number one, I was going to be changed and number two, I was going to be gouged. Then the head person over there wants to get snippy with me on the phone when I question the charge - 'it was on the papers you signed'. The cost was not and neither was the fact I was going to get billed for an inspection - all the paperwork says is 'the fees are built into the mortgage' as in no closing costs. I swear I don't think there is a quality mortgage department in Virginia Beach. if anyone has had luck, please send me the name and phone number of who you used!

  I am extremely pleased and impressed by the outstanding service Beach Municipal has provided me. I had made a typo when writing an e-check, Beach Municipal found the check and made the correction. This service saved me from an extra charge! I know they have also made this correction for other customers in the past and this kind of effort to help members is not an anomaly. Between that unexpected help, their incredible service with simple checking matters, car loan rates and credit card services for myself and my family, I'll be a customer for life even throughout cross country relocation!

  I’ve been a member at this Bank for almost 8 years. They have helped me through the hardest times in my life. From my apartment getting flooded during hurricane matthew. To replacing my car hassle free. Making sure I get the lowest APR rate. Also- they are like family. Rachel, when she was loan officer, she was my saving grace I felt like!!! Of course they are there to do a job. But they don’t make it feel like it’s their job, the genuinely care about their members. And the tellers, Robin. I can’t say how great full I am for her! Of course we have quick convos, but she’s always smiling, bubbly, and very detail oriented. Which I appreciate, I love that she repeats everything pertaining my transaction. Working in the pharmacy we have to be detailed and focused. And that she is every time I talk to her, she greets me by name, along with my husband. I remember breaking down to her one time and she just made me feel like a friend was consulling me, Please, hold on to Robin for as long as you can! Because I don’t get service like that often!!! And Emma, I love her too! She’s super sweet and always friendly! Thank you princess Anne branch! Now that’s rachel is manager at the Vbeach Blvd location, I’m going to have to try and go to both, just to see Rachel! I’m sad we are moving because I won’t be able to see these wonderful people! Thank you beach municipal! You’re more then a bank to this Wolff Family!

  We would like to Thank Ms. Terri at Beach for taking the extra steps to come outside to assist my Elderly Aunt who has trouble walking. It really makes a difference to our seniors. Please take a moment to show her the credit union's appreciation. From our family thanks so much!

  I am tired of hearing everyone I know complain about this credit union. Their website is always down, payments can't be viewed, and their customer service makes me feel like I accidentally called McDonalds when calling with questions about my account.

Per our records, our website has only seen downtime once in the past eight months, and that was only for a very brief period, so it may be a browser issue.   I am an employee of the city of Virginia Beach, and this banking institution was recommended to me, so I went there to open an account.... This proved to be a MAJOR mistake, as these people seem to be incompetent, and provided me with incorrect account numbers, leading to me being unable to setup online banking.... Also, there idea of customer support is laughable, and there is absolutely NO WAY to ask anything after their branches close, except to call a useless robot, so I must now wait until Monday morning to get some explanation of this.... I personally despise businesses that make themselves nearly impossible to get in touch with, as they are generally bad companies, and this is one of those.... It would not be so bad, if they just did their jobs correctly, but they do not.... PLEASE STAY AWAY, they are too inept, and lazy to be trusted with your money!!

  This place is great. I used them a lot to make payments to co-op credit unions out of state. Staff was always very competent at this which isn't always the case.
