Brennie1I've had a long standing relationship with Bank of the West. As a California customer, their number one goal was excellent customer service. We moved to Idaho about 1.5 years ago. First thing I did was order checks. For the first time I was charged $15.00 and didn't receive the checks. Went inside to the Wells branch in Boise. The person behind the window stated, I'll order checks and going forward you will be charged $15.00 on you this account. Currently I have three checking accounts and one savings all linked together carry a large sum of money. I've never been charged for checks before but, now they are stating the one account is being charged a fee for checks. Why is it, that don't have to stick with the agreement we made when I opened the account or what they sold me on? I ask the teller to advise the manager if they decided to charge me, I would close my account. I've never been charged until I got to Idaho. He states, I'll call you back and ask for my number. Well, he didn't call back and when I called directly to the branch today. They was two more $15.00 charges. He said, I ordered the checks and the company they out source to must have made a mistake. I requested the charges to be taken off. Bottom line, Bank the West would rather loose a 20 year customer with a large balance then wave their $15.00 fee. I use to love this Bank and now, not so much.

Mike N Erica Carr1Why doesnt it suprise me to come here and see an average of 2 stars for the reviews. The 2 ladies who run this branch have the common sense of a turnip. Run do not walk to a different bank than this one.

Shaun Elliott1Horrible bank. They like to place random 8 days holds on credit cards payments when you pay off your balance, then refuses to lift them. I have never had a bank do this to me. I will just stick with credit unions.

Heather Thomas1Went in to pay/deposit rent check written to management company with the same acct number we've used every month for over 2 years. Today the teller takes it over to a gal at the desk, they whisper and scowl for nearly 10 minutes and then he comes back and says he can't take the check because the acct number belongs to the management co owners personal acct but check is made out to his business acct. If the two accts are connected why is it an issue that I didn't have the business acct number?! I tell him this is the exact way we've brought it in every month for over 2 years, so YOU call your client and tell him YOU are refusing his payments. The gal at desk comes over and proceeds to tell me they would never accept the check with that acct number as is... Again I say, well you have for over 2 years so you call your client and tell him why. She basically said I was lying. She was not friendly at all... Said she was sorry they had been inconsistent before, I said no you're inconsistent now. She walked away to whisper and scowl with someone else. The teller (poor guy) was trying to be helpful, called their client told him it can't go in personal acct got permission to put in business acct and deposited the check. I am very glad they are not my bank, I would be furious if my bank was so rude and difficult to someone making a payment to me. As if paying overpriced rent isn't stressful enough we get to now worry if the bank is going to be rude and difficult about it every month. That blonde gal was snotty about the whole thing from the beginning. Wish I could give negative stars. I haven't been talked down to or experienced bad service like that in a long time. Shame!

Unknown1Always make mistakes, unprofessional and not wanting to help when I have questions! Going to start closing my accounts and they are giving me a hard time with that right now! Don’t bother banking with them!

Brandi Barnhart1They only have three locations in the valley, none of which are open on Saturdays like most banks. Also, they don’t hold normal hours Monday through Fridays like everybody else. I have noticed a pattern of using Covid as an excuse to either not be open at all, or have their drive-through closed, which is the only reason why I go to the bank at all.

Ryan Vasso1Slowest branch ever. The drive through routinely takes 10+ minutes when I am the only car there. The people are always super friendly - so maybe it's just under-staffed?

Donna Townsend2Not happy how they handle certain transaction. If your not a current bank member, your penalized to cash a check from a member of bank, even if funds are good. You will get your "fee" back if you return within 5 days and open a account. So now you have a time frame.Just poor marketing, by bank policies.Sure i could go to my own, but this one was more convient and I figured a quick small transaction would'nt put them out.
