My husband and I are extremely disappointed with the terrible service and lack of communication we have received at this location. We needed to open an account for our baby. We tried calling the main Bank of America number to find out what would be required. We have numerous joint accounts with Bank of America already. The main BofA line told us we would need to call the branch specifically. We tried and tried during their listed business hours. They do not answer their phone, apparently. As our baby is too young to be vaccinated, one of us stays home with him when the other goes out. My husband went and dealt with the manager Brian and almost wasn’t able to open the account because he had a copy of a document rather than the original. We would have known what to do if we had been able to reach someone by phone. At the time, the manager (Brian) told my husband that I could not be added to the account because I was not physically present, BUT THAT I JUST NEEDED TO COME BACK AND PRESENT MY ID to be added. I attempted to do so today and was denied the ability to do so, even though I also had all original documents with me. Brian told me both parents would have to be present. When I asked him why the person who helped my husband didn’t explain this, he asked who helped my husband. Well, I have just confirmed with my husband that it was Brian himself. When I explained that the reason my husband wasn’t with me was because today he stayed at home with the baby so that I could come and we could avoid bringing an unmasked, unvaccinated baby into a public bank, Brian had no alternative solution to offer. Please, Bank of America South Loop, answer your phone and provide better communication to your customers. We are extremely disappointed. If you were indeed “sorry,” you would do better.

If your a small business in the south loop.....DO NOT BANK HERE. There is no service. Since the other manager left.... 1. No one answers the phone. How can you be a business if you don’t answer the phone? 2. If you need any kind of assistance their is no follow up or assistance. You are on your own. 3. They close at 4:00. Most people work till 5:00. Bank closed too bad. Clearly the bank has too much business to care so little about the customers. Find a bank who can at the very least answer the phone and provide customer service.....there are a few left in the south loop. 4. My account was full of mistakes such as the address wrong or my business categorized wrong ie C Corp instead of single member LLC. I never write reviews but it is so bad I needed to let others know don’t waste your time.

My worst experience of bank of America. I had appointment at 11. After 25 minutes sitting there a banker came to and she knew I was there for my auto loan application. After we went to her office she said she's not in loans cases cant help me. It was just waste of time...

Horrible experience. I came to Deposit my check and it showed on my bank and the next day it just disappeared. I called the bank and spoke to the teller then manager and the pretended they didn’t know what I was talking about. I went to the bank with my deposit slip and they said “oh we deleted the deposit because we couldn’t find the check, the check was lost”. Well the teller was on the phone the whole time so yes, things would get lost when they are not paying attention. They promise to call me next day and nothing. I went to another branch and they contacted the manager since it was not taker care of after 5 days. The manager called me so mad screaming at me about going to another branch because now her bank was probably going to have to take a loss. After 2 weeks they magically found the check. Becareful with this branch and keep an eye on your transactions and deposits even After days.

Very bad banking experience, I need wait in line over 20mins for teller service almost every time I visit this branch (not rush hours). There are not many customers, but only 1-2 tellers every time I visit. The manager and stuffs in this branch seems don't care the wait time. I never have this long waiting BAD experience with any other bank. If it's not because my company to use this bank, I won't use their service. 😡

Horrible service. They never have enough bankers to assist customers. Always a 30 to 45 minute wait to speak to someone. Last time the teller didn’t put my name on the list so I waited 45 minutes while the two bakers were doing nothing. The next time the banker was so unbelievably rude when I had to open a new account because mine was hacked and he never even ordered my new debit card. Probably time to switch to a new bank.

Never ever go to this place. I scheduled an appointment for notary regarding passport documents. Being an account holder, I thought notary would be straight forward as I have got few documents notarized in another state. However, they said they wouldn't do it even though I showed original documents and clearly described the purpose. I even showed them online proof that notary for documents related to passport application. I felt like the personnel at this bank are very prejudiced. Worst experience ever.

I called BofA to see if temporary checks could be issued, as I opened my account online. They said it would be no problem at the branch. One of the bankers was calling out, asking people in line to leave for not-urgent issues because it was five minutes to close, and they were really backed up. I declined, as I had left work early to make it to the branch in time. The branch would not print the three checks I requested. They said that the only way to do it would be to do three cashiers checks. Defeated, I agreed to do one for a bit I had for today,, and I was informed it would be $15. I pulled out the money instead to do a money order at a nearby currency exchange. After I took care of that, I called BofA to check on why I was misinformed, and to update their customer service agents. The person I spoke to was puzzled, as temporary checks are still issued by BofA, but require a specific paper type. I'm guessing that either the branch ran out, didn't want to load the paper, or didn't want to print to the correct printer. I was also informed that barring that, they could have opened up a new account with pre-printed temporary checks, and transferred money from my account into that one just to get those three that I needed. That option was not presented to me. I cancelled my check order, as I don't see a point in continuing with this bank after I receive my $100 sign-on incentive.

I waited almost an hour to replace a card with a damaged chip. Beside the fact that I received the card with the chip not working from the very start, I didn’t even get help here because after 50 minutes I left. I walked in told the girl standing by the door what I was in for and she told me to wait that it would be a few minutes. Ok cool, 10 min, 15, 25, 30 minutes pass & finally someone comes out and asks me what I’m waiting for. I tell him and he says “ok” then walks away. Then another 15 minutes pass and I decide to ask the girl if it will be much longer or if it will be faster/better if I call bank of America instead. Her reply was literally, “ummm I’m not sure.” She stood there and just gave me a blank stare. If she was not sure why not ask someone who does know? Or at least tell me you’ll go check. She had enough time to walk over to Starbucks to get coffees and food but she can’t ask if anyone is available to help me. I ended up calling, it took about 5-10 min to get help and order a new card. I thought Bank of America had a position that helps customers with online banking and phone help to direct them to other options with simple answers. I guess that was too much work for her to do. Also, while I was there at least 3 customers entered the location & asked a question to the same girl and her response every time was “umm I’m not sure.” Even Chase offered better customer service and theirs is horrible. Believe the reviews, you’re better going to a boa with 3.5+ stars.
