Austin Bank Reviews

Amy5Austin used to be my first choice for my banking needs. They changed the hours to am unreasonable schedule. I worked 7-3 m-f and the bank was not open after 3 ever. I had to close out my safety deposit box because I could never get on to access my own items. They were open on Saturday but that also changed. I have Chase bank and have been very happy with them. They seem to work more hours that a daytime worker could visit and do on person business such as a safety deposit box, among other things. I still pay my bills thru Austin bank, but the change in hours ended my day to day checking with Austin.

Amy B.1This is the worst branch I've dealt with. In July I made a deposit at the drive thru and when I reconciled at the end of the month it was missing. I had my receipt and saw it was put in the wrong account so I called at the beginning of August and I was told it was fixed. Just got my August statement and no, it wasn't fixed. Had to call a different branch to fix their error correctly. I know accidents happen but this was a little ridiculous. When I called it should have been taken care of right. Thankfully the deposit wasn't a large amount or that could have really screwed things up for our small business. I will start using a different branch from now on.
Response from the ownerAmy, I would like to forward your situation to the appropriate management to make them aware. If you would reach out to me via email with some additional details, I will share it with management to hopefully insure there are no more issues going forward. Thank you, Maebeth Cotton ([email protected])

Samantha Charlene1Honestly, this is the worst branch. They are rude and unnecessarily difficult. 100% of the time I go through the drive-thru (across the span of years, so definitely pre-COVID) I have to send the container back to request a pen because they never send a writing utensil along with the deposit/withdraw slip, or even ask. Luckily there are better branches, but I wish they would do something about this one.
Response from the ownerThank you for your review, Samantha. I will share your experience with the management at this location to make sure they are aware. In response to your issue with the pen, we have removed pens due to pandemic concerns and the sharing of those writing utensils. Pens are always available upon request. We hope to be able to return to normal business practices soon where we can again leave pens easily accessible for all customers. Maebeth Cotton

Jamie Mahon1This banking experience has to bethe worst ever. They're slow and the protocol is never the same every time we go through the drive-thru at the same bank location.
Response from the ownerJamie, I am sorry to hear your experience was unsatisfactory. This location is the busiest of our drive-thrus often resulting in longer wait times. We do have other locations with drive-thrus available that may lessen your wait time and I would encourage you to take advantage of them if possible. Our procedures should be the same each visit, if it was not, I encourage you to reach out to me at [email protected] to share more of the issue so that we may get it resolved.

Marci4Folks there are always really nice and helpful. I decided not to move accounts there because I cannot usually leave work early to get there before they close. I left work way too late to do anything with my paycheck today so I drove through to see what their Saturday times are. I was very suprised to see what a nightmare parking lot they now have and that they have NO DRIVE THROUGH HOURS POSTED on the drive through window!!!
Response from the ownerSaturday hours at the Med Center office are 9 - 12. Please stop by, but be aware that this office is very busy on Saturdays. You may also visit us at Cumberland Park on Saturdays.

Jo Anna Apple1HIRE MORE TELLERS FOR DRIVE THRU!! WHAT IS THE PROBLEM????? I see this is an auto response. Its not just slow, no cars move at all for several minutes. Makes no sense. Anyway, as you suggested, I will use another branch, even if this is the one I typically bank
Response from the ownerJo Anna, I am sorry you had a frustrating experience. Our Med Center location is definitely one of our busiest drive thrus. We consistently strive to serve customers in the most timely of manners and apologize for the delays you experienced. You may take advantage of the drive thru at one of our other Tyler locations if time is of the essence. I will be sure to pass along your review.

Cody Quinn1The pure incompetence of some the tellers here is flat out embarrassing. And to deal with that after a 45 minute wait in the drive thru makes me very tempted to find another banking service

Loretta Oliver1Very poor customer service. We have been waiting over 1 hour to take care over my deceased mothers affairs. The staff is very unconcerned about the customers needs and the only person that can access it is the branch manager..... REALLY!!
Response from the ownerMs. Oliver, I am sorry to hear of your loss. Please be assured that our staff is concerned with your needs, and wanted you to speak with the office manager due to the sensitive nature of the situation. I hope that you were able to get all of your needs taken care of, but if not, please reach out to me at [email protected] so that we may help further.

David Jennings1The new parking lot totally sucks! It makes getting in and out even more difficult. The exit for Houston st. is so close to the intersection it's near impossible to get out going ether direction. If you enter from Beckham there is no way to get to the ATM or drive through. Regardless of how you enter the only safe way to exit is on Beckham going south. Whoever designed this new lot is retarded to think it would help. Even the new parking spots are difficult to get in and out with a full size truck. They desperately need to start over and try again!
