Arvest Bank Reviews

Elizabeth Skinner1We went inside after waiting forever in the lines to have my husband added to the savings account back in October. We filled out paperwork, and then he was never added. The staff was nice and gave us a free Dr. Pepper, but they didn't follow through with the purpose of our visit. I can't give them a good rating for this. I just found out he was never added.
Response from the ownerHi Elizabeth, we are very sorry to hear this. We would like to connect you with a member of local management to listen and learn more about your experience. Would you please send your contact information to [email protected]? We would like to assist you.

Lauren Abbott1Within the last 6 months, Arvest Bank opened a second card on my account to a stranger, because they didn’t bother to check that customers ID when they came in for a new card. Customer made chargers and Arvest said my ONLY option was to open a police report because there was NO WAY they could have made a mistake. Opened the report, had to use a PTO day, just to realize they’re being lazy with people’s money… (the officer handling my case said he was personally closing his account because that wasn’t the first time Arvest told someone to open a report due to their lazy error). Months later, they put my cash deposit in the account of the person in front of me in the drive thru line, wouldn’t have caught it if I weren’t actively checking my app. Today made a deposit they didn’t post so I’m praying the money isn’t in someone else’s account yet AGAIN. They miscounted a withdrawal my brother made, told my dad he couldn’t withdraw the amount of cash he wanted, promised to send me a letter to ease my mind about all of these errors, never did. I cannot visit this branch on one simple occasion without an error on their end. Perhaps me being a young girl rather than a wealthy executive means I’m not deserving of answers or accuracy from my own bank.
Response from the ownerHi Lauren, we are very sorry to hear this and we understand your frustrations. We would like to connect you with a member of local management to listen and learn more about your experience. Would you please send your contact number to [email protected]?

Nathan Stevens2Most Arvest locations are fantastic. This one has ATMs on all but the business lane. While you can talk to a live teller through the ATM, one thing you can't do is a cash advance. As someone who has to cash advance off a pay card, this is a problem. When I go through drive thru, I'm looking for quick service. But since the business lane is backed up, a quick trip is out of the question. If you need a quick withdrawal, this one is fine. Mortgage questions, great! Don't come here if you need to do a fast cash advance or something similar. Find another Arvest branch.
Response from the ownerHi Nathan, we’re truly sorry to hear about the troubles you have had with requesting a cash advance at this location. We know this is very inconvenient, so we would like the opportunity to connect you to a member of local management to discuss further. Would you please send your name and contact phone number to [email protected]?

Randall Backus2The location is good and the staff adequate, but whomever chose the type of drive through machines had obviously not used them! They are impossible, require leaning out of your vehicle to press cards against a glass reader (I have not done so without dropping it), placing cash and checks in slots, and is generally unworkable. If I must, I'll just use the commercial lane to use the drawer.
Response from the ownerHi Randall, we appreciate your feedback regarding our drive thru lanes and will share it with our local management team. Thank you very much for your review.

Michael Reid1I’ve had the absolute worst experiences with Arvest Banks. And it’s not getting any better. In fact, it’s getting a lot worse. So after too many bad experiences, I’ve decided to take my banking elsewhere. At the time of closing the account, I had several thousands of dollars in it. They told me that they would mail me a check. Several weeks went by and I didn’t see the check. I called and asked about but the person I spoke with could not give me any information because the account was closed. After they transferred me a few times, I eventually got to speak to a manager who then told me that it could take more than 90 days for them to issue me a check. I eventually got the check, but I felt like they should not have help on to my money for so long. They are extremely difficult to work with in doing what other banks do everyday as part of everyday banking. The number of locations is the only good thing Arvest bank has going for them. Without that, I don’t think most people would bank there.
Response from the ownerHi Michael, we're so sorry to hear about your experience with us. We appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback with us and will share it with our local management so that we can improve. Thank you.

A H2I attempted to open a checking account today and had a poor first impression of the employees at Arvest Bank. I walked in and there were four people at the counter. Two scattered away to talk behind a cubicle and the other two took a few moments to acknowledge my presence. Once I was noticed, I was told to have a seat and wait for an available agent. A gentleman came out saying it would be a 20 minute wait, which seemed odd because there were several employees lingering around and no customers in the waiting area. As we were talking, a teller from behind the counter came out showing how his hand was trembling in a joking and attention seeking manner to the employee we were talking with. It was an interuption and not relevant to what we needed. We were about to walk out and find a different bank, but an employee who was finishing up a task offered to help. This guy was friendly, however had a very unkept beard. It really needed to be shaved or at least maintained. I'm surprised Arvest doesn't have expectations for employees regarding facial hair. As this employee was explaining the different account options, we learned that Arvest charges $0.50 to pay an online bill. He explained that this was to help with fraud protection, however, it doesn't explain why Arvest wants to financially penalize people for paying their bills. On this note, we politely told the teller that we were going to hold off on making an account, and walked out of his office. Just outside of his office were two female employees who sounded like a couple of cackling hens. They were clearly not working and were being noisy and disrespectful to the banking environment. Overall, I will not bank with Arvest due to the unprofessionalism of the employees at this new Rogers location. The fee for paying an online bill is the other reason I will search for a different bank. I'm providing 2 stars since the interior of the new location is very nice.

Rebecca Henson1They have been waiving the $5 check cashing few due the pandemic, not today! I don't have an account with Arvest and needed to cash a personal check from someone. I told the teller this, whom I hadn't seen before, instead of going to ask someone, he was adamant. Just wow! That extra $5 is important!
Response from the ownerHi Rebecca, we’re sorry to hear that you feel this way and understand your frustration. If you would let us, we would like to connect with you to discuss more. Would you please send us your name and contact phone number to [email protected]?

Macky Mcgehee2I've have probably been to 20 different branches.... This one , is the absolute slowest one in regards to the tellers that i have ever been to. It is worse than Walmart at Christmas. Every time I go there, I'm in line for half an hour. So far today I'm at 22 minutes.
Response from the ownerMacky Mcgehee, we are truly sorry to hear about this. If you would let us, we'd like to listen and learn more about your experiences. Would you please email [email protected] with your phone number so we can have management follow up?

Chad Sitze1Arvest is just Wal-Mart. Do I need to say anything else? Garbage bank. Garbage management. Why even hire someone if they’re incapable of helping people and just state blankly and uncaringly. I shouldn’t be surprised though. Walmart. Don’t waste your time with these imbeciles.
Response from the ownerHi Chad, we’re sorry to hear that you feel this way and to learn of your recent visit to our Village Pkwy location in Rogers. We would like to speak with you about your experiences at Arvest so that our associates can learn and improve. Would you please send your contact information to [email protected] so that we can connect with you?
