  Derek and team provide a great home buying experience in Maggie Valley. He offered a lot of great guidance, a welcomed input as this was our first time entering into the vacation/second home purchase arena. They were honest throughout the process, and I would definitely use them again.

  As a Realtor I knew to interview several lenders to help us refinance our own home before making a decision. Having had clients obtain their loans with Derek (Amerifirst) in the past, it was no surprise that he would do a top notch job. We stayed informed, closed on time and the process was stress-free. I would highly recommend him for your home loans.

  Went through this company to refinance a few months back. You have choices people. Choose wisely. Especially when it comes to something as important as your mortgage. If you want a company that is: personal, stays on top of things, COMMUNICATES, treats you as someone that HAS CHOICES and CHOSE your company, rather than simply the next person in line ( a “line” that I fully believe is a stack of papers on a desk covered in papers that are blown about and re-ordered each time a door opens)-choose elsewhere. A family member of mine was using this company as well and they basically just stopped communicating with them then gave her misinformation on the refinance process that luckily another company was able to help her with. I like to give people the benefit of doubt bc I know, especially in the last year, things have been tough. I even recently reached out AGAIN about additional questions on purchasing another home - via email, bc email is the ONLY way ANYONE here communicates - and still, as a current customer even...nothing but “I will look in to it”. I was relieved to see the other one star review that is a mirror image of my experience. Do better, guys. One day you’ll need us more than we needed you.

  If I could leave 0 stars I would. My wife and I purchased our first house through this company and I’m just glad they got it done. No one will answer the phone or explain to you what is going on. When they do respond to you it’s through text or email.
